I adore this outfit on you. I have a heattech cami that I love and I tried some (non-Uniqlo) fleece lined tights that are just not long enough so they are donated (life's too short to keep pulling up your waistband even if your legs are toasty warm). I was thinking of trying the heattech next. Thank you for saving me what sounds like a poor purchase for me on those tights.

What a wonderful outfit! This is one that should be repeated! And thanks for the review! Strange how differently garments with the same "size" fit, isn't it?

AJ, I do have a short slip under the dress, but to be honest it's a lot less clingy than some other of my jersey items. I think because it's a heavier, slinkier jersey? It also drapes very well.

Rachy, they do have the sweater material in legging format as well, so that would probably eliminate the shortness issue. If you're like me and generally I wear boots with tights, it doesn't really matter if they have feet. Although the feet really are warm - I just realized that I forgot to put on socks today (I usually wear them over my tights) and my feet are plenty warm.

Thanks for the review of the tights! Appreciate that. I think I might give it a go, if you can't feel the wind. The control top gives me pause tho and the shortness.

I think I agree with you about length re. the dress. But cute anyways!

Diana! I am so flattered and also in total admiration of your outfit - I think I need to add a topper to mine for some interest.... Sorry about the tights, there is nothing more annoying than slippage. Hated that as a little girl.

With the shorter boots, I think the length of this dress looks fine.

How did you keep your jersey dress from clinging to your tights? Even with a slip, I find that the bottom edge of the dress where the slip does not cover, clings to my tights/hose.

You look great, Diana! I am sorry to hear about the tights, though - they sound annoying. I hate that feeling when the crotch isn't high enough. Dropped crotch is one thing on BF jeans or trousers. It is another thing entirely on tights! Urgggh. Sends me back to my leotard wearing days as a kid when the tights were always crawling down into my boots....

You look so cute! After listening to all your woes about undies, I'm envious of those with a little more "junk" in the trunk. But I highly agree with your assessment of the dress. At least for me, I like the skirt to be a little higher with tights and boots especially with contrasting colors.

I especially like the review about heattech due to my propensity to feel cold, yeah I have nothing to whine about because I live in California where it's rarely ever very cold. However, in my defense I used to live in warmer so cal where I never needed a coat and has made me a chicken around cold weather!

Una's outfit yesterday inspired me to pull out my orphaned black jersey dress and try it with grey tights and moto boots. I added a handknit vest on top for warmth. Looking at these photos, I think I know why I don't wear this dress more often. It's just slightly too long and I prefer slightly shorter dresses and skirts in winter with tights and boots. It's very comfy though!

Tulle dress, handknit vest and beret, Uniqlo heattech tights, Frye boots.

Also, a couple of people asked me to review these Uniqlo Heattech tights when I wore them. They are indeed very warm, I daresay warmer than the leggings even. It was cold and windy today (so much so that my hat blew off and I had to chase it down the street) and I did not feel it on my legs at all. These are the "heattech knitted tights" so the material is like a micro-rib knit. (There are also regular heattech tights, which I believe are the same material as the leggings.) The waistband is pretty comfy and there is no segmented worm syndrome. They feel like standard thin sweater tights. They do feel slightly prickly at times, but almost all sweater tights do that on me (especially when it's warmer, like indoors), so I don't think I'm a good judge of itchiness.

I found them to run small (unlike the leggings, which I think run large). They only come in two sizes, S/M and L/XL, and these are the larger size, so there will be no sizing up. They do have a control top so that might contribute to them being tighter, but I also think the fabric is not as stretchy as the leggings. They do look sleeker and tighter than the leggings (although I might try to size down on the leggings for a tighter fit.) My biggest problem is that they are SHORT. They are slightly sagging in the crotch on me because the legs are not long enough to pull up all the way. It looks fine but feels weird. For reference, I am a size US 8-10 on the bottom and have about a 31" inseam in bare feet. My legs are long for my height but just average if you don't consider my height. I would say these would not work for anyone much bigger or with longer legs than me.

Anyway, hope that review was helpful! I think I am going to stick to the heattech leggings from now on.
