@Modgirl - yes, this is the NAS leather skirt. I've worn it since with heels and I really like the way it looks and feels. Takes a bit of getting use to, though - this is my first leather garment outside of a jacket. Funny that you should mention cutting off the belt loops on this jacket - I did that the day I wore this outfit! I'll be more aware of moving the belt a bit higher on the waist. Looking at the pictures, it does look too low. Thanks for the suggestion! And yes, I love the boots - so comfy!!
@Angie - thank you! Can't believe my flats outfit got a killer. I felt so self-conscious all day but now maybe I will actually try another outfit with flats even if I don't have to! :)
@missvee, heather, greenglove & cjh - thanks! My goal is to look professional and put together, but not boring. Hopefully that's what I'm pulling together these days!
@clearlyclaire - thank you for the suggestion on pairing flats with skirts. I think I'll keep this particular skirt for heels and play with some other shorter skirts with these flats next time around.

I'm glad your foot got better toward the end and you could wear your new boots! I bat for team flats and wearing them with a straight skirt can be tricky. If the skirt is just a little shorter it really helps --like at the top of the kneecap (this is just FYI, obviously you're not going to chop off that fantastic leather skirt!)

I love your style and all of your looks. Love neutrals on you and your natural sophistication. The new bag is yummy! Thanks as always for sharing.

Well, I haven't read any of the replies but must say I think the pants in #1 are just fine. I like the width and length, both. Too bad about the top going to pieces~ it's a pretty color and nice with the black suit.

All the rest: gorgeous color palettes and such nice ensembles - all complete and sharp. Your wardrobe is beautiful and you've put together your outfits so nicely! I could look at these all day. #4 is my favorite. #5 is a sweet jacket - LOVE. and #6 - the flats look fine with this outfit - rather playful and young, in fact.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Boot Twin!! Aren't those boots just wonderful! They're pretty comfy for high heels and I think they do miracle things for your legs. I love your WIW's but I'm sad that I don't get to see your gorgeous hair and how fabulously it must bookend the boots. My style skews strongly toward bombshell and I love it when you belt or tuck. My favorite looks are 2,4,7,8,10. I also love the big oversized sweaters. You have to do them with something really slim and sleek at the bottom and I think you've done this beautifully. Is that the NAS leather skirt? I was afraid it would be too long on me (plus I am waaay flagged on leather clothes). How does it feel on you? #5 does not make me happy. That tweed jacket is too big. Look how low the belt hangs on your hips. It should be at your waist. You can remove or move the belt loops it would help. Or you could retire it and just wear that gorgeous VC jacket out constantly like I would! I am a shameless repeater when I find something that makes my heart sing. So glad you got to meet up with the YLF family!

I almost forgot to mention the bag!! So beautiful! It is a great find!! That color goes with absolutely everything. I love the soft structure. It is serious and fun at the same time.

I am pretty much in love with every photo here, Christy! I love your style, color choices and fabrics. In particular, I WANT #8 and love your cashmere sweater. Also, I'm enjoying 3, 4, 5, 7 & 8 and NO, there is not too much going on in #7. I love the textured tights and pearls. It looks fabulous. I don't work any longer, but I have to say that your suit in #2 fits you beautifully, so you wear conservative well. Thanks for these wonderful photos.

@Anna - thank you! I always love your edgy vibe, so I'm glad you like it!
@Suz - yeah, I'm undecided on the pants too. The boots are Miz Mooz Flynn in Taupe. They are the same ones that modgirl has.
@MNsara - thank you! I might give these pants another try with a pair of flats.
@Midwest Girl - great idea, a pendant with this silhouette might help it quite a bit. I picked up two pendants recently that might be fun to try out.
@Transcona Shannon - those red heels are one of my favorites!
@Deborah - thank you! Your style really resonates with me too, my fellow neutrals loving gal!

Christy firstly thanks for posting, I wish you would do more. I love your wardrobe Your style and love of neutrals really resonates with me :)

Truly there is nothing here that doesn't look fab.

#1
Not sure exactly what it is but I think the pants might be ready for retirement. I think there might be too much fabric in the upper leg. Having said that, the outfit is lovely.

#2
Gorgeous and totally work appropriate.

#3
Love this. Now I need a light colored jacket, just so I am can copy this look.

#4
Love the colors and the little twists you have added to the outfit. I think the shoes stop it from being too conservative.

#5
Is a stunning outfit. The jacket is beautiful and I think wearing your hair up creates a nice balance to wearing flats. I think you wear flats very well.

#6
Wow! Your leather skirt looks a lot like mine I absolutely love this look on you, flats and all. I wonder if maybe given the flats and the silhouette, its just a little different to your norm! Take some time to get used to it, because it is stunning. You could add heels but I think this will work with either. You have inspired me, stay tuned :)

#7
Modern and classic. LOVE the boots. The hose really 'connects' the whole outfit.

#8
Perfection. This silhouette really works for you.

#9
Simple and very elgant and the boots really add interest. Did I say I LOVE those boots.

#10
Lovely work classic work outfit.

Your new loot is wonderful and the new bag is great. Oh did I say I LOVE those boots:)

Thanks for sharing.

What a great lineup of outfits! There is so much to love here, I don't know where to start., but here are my favorites:

Love #1--love this from head to toe. One suggestion--have you considered wearing a pendant with the outfit?

#2 may be conservative, but I am always drawn to this classic look, and you pull it off so well.

#4 - Love this, and the boots are gorgeous.

#6 - This is so chic and it looks incredible with those flats. Of course, it will look sensational with heels too, but this is a great look just the way you've style it.

#7 This wonderful and the boots are gorgeous.

#8 - Love everything about this.

Thanks for posting!

What great outfits! I am in love with #4 - for the sheer chic elegance of it! I'm also loving #6, 7, and 8. I mean they're ALL wonderful, but these speak to me ;-)

The cameo (worn either way!), the Heist pumps, your new bag, textured hose all add that special touch. You do flats beautifully - so #6 might look a bit better with heels, but this version is very nice as is.

The narrowed pants, in #1, look a bit short for heels, how do they do with flats?

Some beautiful looks here, Christy! I am not sure what I think about the trousers in #1...how do they feel now? They look fine, but I suppose it depends on how great your need is.

I LOVE #4. It is beautiful...and I promise I'm not saying that just because I happen to be modelling the same blouse with accessories in the same green (or very close) as your skirt in the "Dress the Decade" challenge today!

I do not see the problem with #6 at all; I think it looks terrific! But then I bat for team low heels.

LOVE your new boots and would like to know which ones they are and what the colour is called.

Been a while since I've gotten my act together enough to post some WIWs! Here are a few from the last couple of weeks - including the debut of a few items from our YLF meet up in Everett a couple of weekends ago.

1. Black riding jacket, black straight legged pants, raspberry blouse, red heels. This blouse has been a problem child and I have had trouble styling it. Solved that problem by washing it - seam split straight up the middle of the back! Good ol' Nordstrom - took it back no questions asked. But what do you think about these black pants? They were an awkward width and I took them into to get narrowed. Saved? Or should they be purged?
2. Conservative by necessity: black suit, belted and worn with a blue striped collared shirt, big grey pearls, black pumps
3. Khaki jacket, teal top (hard to see the color, but it is teal!) with a white tank layered underneath it, my grandmother's cameo worn back side facing out (thanks Angie - that would never have occurred to me!), high heeled sandals.
4. Done this one before, but I like it. Navy silk blouse, green seamed skirt, switched it up a bit by adding my animal print belt and sky high slides. Showing off my addition to my handbag collection! :)
5. A little backstory behind 5/6...did something to my foot and *GASP* could NOT wear heels!!!! As a Team Heels girl through and through, this threw me off like nobody's business. Would appreciate your comments on how I did wearing flats to work...Tweed jacket, ivory cowl necked blouse, straight leg pants, flats (sob), new handbag came out to play to make me feel better.
6. The debut of the leather skirt...NOT happy with this one. Would have been LOADS better with heels and I should have waited to pull this out. Super draped raspberry sweater, black leather skirt, red flats, layered necklaces
7. My Miz Mooz boots arrived and were comfortable enough to be worn even with the injured foot - YAY! Black sheath dress, khaki jacket, animal print belt, layered pearls, textured tights. This is a LOT going on for me - too much?
8. The debut of my super soft cashmere sweater - been waiting and waiting for it to be cool enough to pull this out. Black super skinny gap pants (too skinny for work, I think, will keep those for weekends only) and animal print heels.
9. New jacket from the YLF Everett meet-up with ivory cowl-neck blouse, black skirt, light tan boots, fringe pendant necklace (also from the meet-up).
10. Boring suit day - black and white suit belted with a blue fitted blouse, black heels.

I have some other loot from the meet-up that I'll post soon! Thanks for looking and comments/suggestions welcome!
