I seem to also recall some Halogen blazers years ago? Or pencil skirts? Anyway those are your essentials, you just have them in a lot of fun colours and neutrals and thus pull together so many fun outfits easily. But I agree the analysis isn't useful for everyone at all times, I don't worry about it much myself, from the opposite end of the buying spectrum. This flannet shirt and merino sweater really did the trick. And I am loving my high rise flared jeans. The sneakers are ancient but I love how they pick up the plaid!&nbsp;</p> <p>After I got dressed I realized this is exactly what I wore in college in the late 70s! Only difference is we tucked in the shirt so the shirttails didn't show! So funny!</p> <p>And although my comment on today's blog post says I don't really do the "essentials" analysis, certainly these J Crew thin sweaters in every color (long sleeve and short sleeve) are essentials in my current wardrobe, as are jeans in a few silhouettes, along with ankle pants in every color. And earrings. And, these days, loafers and sneakers, surprisingly after spending a lifetime in pumps. Go figure. </p>
