It is just too much contrast. I will try again this year with a few unworn stuff. On paper it seems like a good idea. In practice it is something else. For a long time I had the wrong reds. I experimented with tights or leggings but as with the red white and black - I am not into that high contrast colour blocking. So I wear it in spring for working at home as the top is perfectly fine for zoom calls!!</p> <p>The all black is a bit heavy - I definitely felt that way and the picture confirmed it. </p> <p>Whilst I have a lot of transitional clothing- I find cold springs a challenge. I have worn my denim a lot this year without adding any new jeans- maybe a new style would help lift the spring doldrums. All around looking good! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-in-spring#post-2286902 Thu, 20 Oct 2022 01:00:01 +0000 Sal 2286902@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>It's been a very cool spring....so I am struggling a bit.&nbsp; I had decided to put jeans aside for a while after wearing them a lot, but I am not finding it easy.</p> <p>Here are some recent looks - not all successful - and I will relate them to my Grown Up Charlies Angela Style persona and my three words which (I think) are breezy bold elegance.....</p> <ul> <li>denim jacket with rust dress - I think the dress is bold and breezy - but not so elegant.&nbsp; I liked this style but would prefer it without the jacket (but it was too cold)</li> <li>Navy and yellow - trialling the 70s style skirt and new mules.&nbsp; I think this is bold breezy and elegant and quite 1970s.&nbsp; Top only works draped, tucked or fully loose doesn't look as good.</li> <li>Black blazer and skirt - this felt good for a work day.&nbsp; I think it meets all the criteria - and the Charlies Angels were into blazers when they were in PI mode....</li> <li>All Black - this was only okay.&nbsp; I prefer this with lighter shoes and without the blazer.&nbsp; Feels a bit boring on me.</li> <li>Denim and jumpsuit - experimented with a small scarf but ended up taking it off as small scarves rarely feel right.&nbsp; Still love this old jumpsuit though and it feels very me.</li> <li>New blue sweater and white pants -&nbsp; It's not exciting but the colour combo and chunky sneakers make it feel braver.</li> <li>Orange knit dress - I wear this once a year.&nbsp; Today is the day.&nbsp; Fun with the chunky sneaker.&nbsp; Definitely fits the persona.</li> <li>Red white and black - I actually felt off all day.&nbsp; I think it skews too cool (winter rather than spring) and I was physically cold all day.&nbsp; I wore the black and white check tote with this.&nbsp; I think this would suit someone else - but I won't repeat again.&nbsp; It is bold, it is elegant-ish, but maybe lacking the breezy?</li> </ul> <p>Eight outfits - no denim!!&nbsp;&nbsp; </p> <p>I think these are quite an uneven set of outfits - and I could do with some more accessorising.</p>
