He didn't ask for it -- she insisted he give it to me and propose right then right now. And would not take no for an answer. </p> <p>I also objected after he gave it to me (she was still married!), but she insisted. Developed early onset dementia and then two months ago was dx'ed with metastatic lung cancer. The end was brief and mercifully swift. I am also in my 50s and I totally get what you mean, it doesn't seem so far away now. However brief my MIL's life was, she lived it with gusto... right up to the end. And that is a lesson I take away from her. She was... a force of nature. We all are.&nbsp;</p> <p>Anne, thank you. It was more of a tribute in the sense that she was always out there, connecting with people, nurturing her myriad of social connections, and I haven't been participating here as much lately. I'm more reserved than she is (and my husband too) and tend to have only so much social energy. LOFT sateen leggings in a grey-ish purple color&nbsp;<br />3. Nearly matching (same exact purple tones but slightly ligher) asymmetrical sweater I found at Target. Not a petite so maybe a bit too long, but I like it. Comfy, cozy, swingy.<br />4. Camera bag with guitar strap from the Rack (MIL would've totally approved of this particular item)<br />5. Plaid scarf (navy, light blue, camel) from BR<br />6. Smile on my face remembering my mother in law, as she'd expect that<br />7. Puffy eyes because I'm sad she's gone</p> <p>If she'd ever gotten used to the internet, she'd have been here participating years ago (I told her all about this group), and you all would've loved her too.</p> <p> </p>
