Thank you very much for the feedback, ladies!

@kkards and karie: I will keep the pants alteration in mind. I have something called a swayback which is probably the reason why my pants tend to slide down or gap in the back!

@Beth Ann: thanks for the belt recommendation! I actually wear belts on a regular basis so I guess I just need to tighten it one more notch.

@Karie: Discovering Gap BF shirts was my first real foray back into button-downs. I used to wear them a lot back in my early 20's but they were darted and fitted back in the early 2000's! The fabric on the BF's are medium weight yet not stiff so it works out for my IT/apple body type! Now I'm waiting to see what other patterns to get! I do hope they come out with a plain black one though!

@Angie: thanks for noticing the specs! I was hoping to get rid of them this year until the optometrist told me that my prescription was too low for contacts. I've been wearing specs for 24 years and I've developed a signature (thick black frames). I guess I have to keep at it!

@Celia: thank you! I find that my body is more inclined to wear skinnies/leggings/narrow pants than flared/wide leg varieties. I just feel much more comfortable in them than I do with wider pants (though I really like the look of flares!)

The shirt is gorgeous on you!

The pants fit as my Gap Really Skinnies or whatever they were called fit me. A little bag past the knees, but I think that is okay. Nothing ever fits close to my calves because they are so scrawny.

I absolutely love Gap's BF shirts - I own several and they see a lot of wear time. As for the jeans I find that a tuck in the waist fixes the sliding down issue.

i solve the pants falling down problem by getting the waist taken in, even if its only a small amount. i have to do this on about 80% of the pants that i buy.
love the shirt, those colors are just great on you.

Love the shirt! It's got a nice balance of structure and drape, and the print is modern and vibrant, without overwhelming.

I find that a flat belt of medium width is best for keeping pants where they belong. I think a lot of skinnies are kind of wide in the waist these days, but my booty can't take a size down, so a belt is necessary!

Thanks Adelfa!

I also find that pants tend to slide down on me too, which probably explains the knee-bagging. I guess in these pictures, I managed to pull my pants up and it stayed put with a belt on.

I always like ankle scrunch.

Incredibly gorgeous shirt. Sometimes my pants bag at the knees if they are long on me. If the pants are a little stretchy I just push all the excess fabric down to my ankles for scrunch, and this makes the knees smoother.

Thank you, Julie! That shirt was seriously love at first sight! Surprisingly, it did not look odd on me despite the fabric!

Now that I think about it... I do wear dark coloured pants on a regular basis so the bagging may not be as clear. Actually from my photo, it doesn't even look like I have the bagging knee effect!

MsKK ~ great shirt! You look tremendous. I adore the print. Kinda hard to see the pants because of their dark color, but I think you look good.

Thanks Sveta!

With regards to the length comment, you're saying the pants would work better if they were longer?

Re:knee bagging. Sometimes I'm not sure if the knee bagging is just me and it's all in my head. I usually like a bit more streamline on the legs and a scrunch at the ankle. I should probably get a clearer picture of what I mean.

This green color looks amazing on you!
it is hard to see the bagginess on the knees you talk about. From what I can see they look fine. Ideally I would love to see more length but they are OK as is.

Ahhh yes, yet another dressing room post!

I swung by The Gap after purchasing my new Naots to try on the Gap Ultra Skinny pants and the skinny Khakis (this will be on another post). I figured I'd post what I was wearing in hopefully better lighting conditions.

I LOVE the shirt I'm wearing. I fell for it the moment I saw it, but waited two weeks before I bought it, it's Gap's fitted boyfriend shirt. Initially, it was about 2-3 inches longer but I had it tailored instead of returning it. I tried wearing this with many types go pants but always thought I looked frumpy due to the (lack of) drape and the looseness of my skinnies or flares. On leans, they looked too short and I looked off-balanced. Later that night, I tried this shirt with a pair of skinnies that were a size smaller. It looked better. I'm happy to say that I'm keeping this shirt. I often get complimented in this shirt - probably because I love it so much and it's the only green I ever wear.

The skinnies: do they look too frumpy? Basically they fit ok around the hips and thighs but really bag out around the knees. And they look sloppy from the knee down. I am not sure if this is because I'm used to leggings and I'm not a fan of sagging, or because they just look too big. I often had to pull the pants up too! As I mentioned previously, I have the same pair a size down. I must've lost a bit of weight because the smaller size fit a lot better. I just have to be vigilant about concealing the muffin ;)

And those are my new Naots in pic 1. Pic 2 are the sandals I wore today. My toes started acting up just after I left the dressing room. :(

Shirt: The Gap
Jeans: American Eagle Skinnies
Shoes: 1) Naot Gema 2) Naturalizer
Necklace: Obsession
Bracelets and Ring: Bizou
