I always think skinnies look better with a little scrunch of extra fabric at the bottom to break them up and add some weight and balance the look out. I think of it as fast and slow. Your eye slides down your jeans really fast but has no place to slow down with the skinnies until it reaches your toe. Without that break as part of the jeans, your experience of them is faster/shorter and more stumpifying (which is ridiculous because you have enviably long legs). </p> <p>Even though I love skinnies, every time that I've tried pinning them up to have them hemmed shorter, I find that I don't like the look as well as when I have the scrunch. When you first tried them on did you like them? Did you have them hemmed after that? </p> <p>That purse, by the way? Utterly gorgeous. You will love that color so much. I have a couple of cargo skinny pants from BR last year and I really like the way they flatter. My main complaint with skinnies is that they feel a bit too restrictive unless they are really soft material. I like them best when there's something to mitigate the effect - volume on bottom created by boots or even the scrunch of the legs, for example. Since you're turned to the side, I can't see a lot of the leg shapes, but it may also not be as bad as you think.</p> <p>One of my male friends is self-conscious of his skinny legs, and likes shorts and jeans that add volume to the bottom half with pockets, zippers, and such. May be I am blind? btw, I changed my cardigan from purple to magenta as you can see so make it a little more colorful<br /> On the other hand, I have taken the plunge and bought the Brighton purse that I posted about yesterday. It is beautiful and my only regret is that its not as large as I would normally carry but I did want to cut down on some stuff that I carry anyway. The third pic is so you can see the color, its very pretty, sort of like dark cherrywood and even if i didn't want brown handbag, this one is quite dark and elegant looking so I really like it. </p>
