No need for a tuck! If you like the high rise pants, I don't necessarily think you need to rule them out yet. I'm noticing that tops are finally getting shorter. Still a bit of a challenge to find the right length (especially for skirts) but I feel like we're getting back to a more classic length. I find the proportions very pleasing.</p> <p>I have two pairs of high-waisted denim, and the main reason I reach for them is that I have a few shirts that are very short--so I need high-waisted denim to avoid showing my belly button. The shirts are left untucked and create very nice proportions. As you say, a very specific shirt length is necessary.</p> <p>Putting together a wardrobe sounds easy until you consider all the different lengths needed for tops, and rises for bottoms. I can't believe I have always avoided this color because I wasn't a "pink person". It goes so well with navy and grey. </p> <p>Both pieces are an easy sew - and I made huge woven (non-stretch) pockets in the skirt for my cellphone and stuff&nbsp;and a waist band that I can flip under to shorten by 1.5” so I can wear different shoes. &nbsp;</p> <p><b>Jussie</b> - thanks for reminding me to measure. I meant to do so and couldn’t find my tape measure. The top is 21" long and the rise of the pants is only 9.25"&nbsp;</p> <p><b>Fashintern </b>- The nice thing about sewing is I can make exactly the shape I want - the stride width of the skirt is perfect for me. It may not work on someone wider because the horizontal line may visually widen the hips. These NYDJ Claire linen trousers come right to my belly button. I sewed this top - eked out of scraps left over when I made a a true maxi with pockets so I could have a comfy practical sun covering skirt. </p> <p>I have been wanting to expand my color palette a bit with jewel tones that are a bit less dark, and this embroidered knit fabric checked a lot of boxes (and sparked my purchase of the raspberry lace dress I posted about earlier). The top is too short to wear with mid rise, but with these high rise pants I can raise my arms without flashing skin.</p> <p>The Clarks sandals are super comfy wedges &nbsp;- combined with the pants I feel quite tall.</p> <p>I'm not sure whether I will get more high rise pants as they seem to need a very specific shirt length if you aren't going to tuck. But I'd love feedback about this combo - does the top length/pant style work? </p>
