If you were pear shaped, then high waisted jeans would emphasize your short waist. The jeans give you a nice, long, linear silhouette. You could also wear a darker top to minimize the contrast and further lengthen the vertical line.</p> <p>I have a pair of NYDJ and I really like the way they fit me. They do tend to stretch but bounce right back with each wash. I hang dry mine.</p> <p>I never thought to put a tie on a polo shirt. In case you didn't know, shopping for pants is my LEAST favorite-usually they are too long, if they fit in the hips, they never fit in the waist. I must have tried 15 different pairs of more. My biggiest dissapointment was the line of jeans for petites by Allison Isuzu-my local Nordstrom carries them. I remember reading a while back about this designer who was saying that she is making this specifically for petite market. Well, there is no way in hell these jeans are for petites. I have tried my usual size 2(I usually wear 0 or 2) and jeans were about 3 inches too long on me(I am 5"1). If something is that long, you really can't shorten them because the pants will loose their line so there is a bust all the way around and in no way this is for petite market. Even when I tried regular lengh pants in other brands, they weren't this long. </p> <p>But I did find a pair of jeans that i thought was pretty awesome. I am wearing it in the pics and its by NYDJ(Nordies sell these in my area, I haven't seen it anywhere else). Their petite size 2 was a PERFECT fit on me, no alterations needed which is nothing short of miraculous. The denim is very dark navy so it looks almost black, is very soft and fluid and EXTREMELY comfortable. Not tight, constricting in any way and just about the most comfortable pair I EVER had. The only fly in the oiment? These are high rise(I usually stick with low rise because I am short waisted). I have tried to remedy this matter by wearing a skinny belt that visually takes my waist down a bit. Tell me what you think</p> <p>Oh, yes and here is conversation about this tie that I had with DH. When I showed him this tie, his response was:<br /> "er..this is a guy's tie.."<br /> "yes"<br /> "women don't wear ties"<br /> "sure they do. Its quite popular nowdays"<br /> "so you are going to dress like a guy?" scratching his head.<br /> "no, just wearing this tie with my other shirts"<br /> "er...okaay". LOL </p>
