I do like both on you! Different looks for sure, but you do them equally well. I think the high contrast really works too because the sweater does not hit at the widest part of your bottom half, which is the problem I always feel I run into for myself.

I love 'em both, but if I had to pick I would go with the high contrast look, which made me smile very broadly!!

Both look good, but I think the low contrast for the season... unless it's turned grey and overcast like up here...

Vix, I see what you mean about the neckline on the dark top!

Kelly, I noticed those things too. I carry my weight up top so I guess the dark color balances me out. I was trying to figure out why the dark looks more polished. I was puzzled because I think of low contrast looks as elegant. Footwear and fabrication, yes. But I wonder too if the dark/light somehow fits with my own coloring to look more pulled together. Not sure. I love the pink too.

Thanks Diane, I like both too :-)

Columbine, yes definitely! I think I started going for lower contrast for figure flattery, but now I'm liking it for itself too.

Janet, the mood of low and high contrast really is different, isn't it?

Gennifyr, I definitely get repeating personal contrast in clothing. I think part of what has happened for me is that I started highlighting my hair and my own contrast level went from quite high to moderately high. This has influenced my color choices!

Beth Ann, that's an interesting tip about exploring both but limiting color choices. I love this advice since I am pretty minimal. Pale pink is one of my "life" colors. I wonder if I could add one other pale color for low contrast looks. Maybe pale lavender or mint. I do mid to dark gray a lot, but I'm not sure that pale gray flatters me.

I like both too. I think the high contrast comes across as more "polished" than the pastel but that is due to foot wear too. I find the darker color on top also looks more slimming for some reason but both are very flattering on svelte you! Wear both!

Hi Adelfa --

As others have said, you pull off the high contrast with the white on the bottom really well!

Since the black is a high neckline, however, and I do prefer the lighter top on you...the low contrast look wins in this particular battle.

Well, you know I do high contrast, and I think your high contrast look is quite slimming. We see the midline area as a graphic element --- not a wider body, if that makes sense. I love the soft tones on you as well, as I think your coloring can pull of both -- the warmth in your skin and hair makes that possible.
Something about the warm quality of the SoCal sun makes these colors particularly at home there.

I'd encourage you to explore wearing both contrasts, but to limit your palette in each to keep your wardrobe from losing cohesion.

I like both on you. For me, I like high contrast looks because I have high contrast colouring so it just looks meshes better.

I really love both on you!

I like high and low contrast on me too, but I depends on the pieces and my mood. When it comes to light or white bottoms, I almost always go low-contrast because I'd rather not call more attention to my bottom half. But you wear white bottoms so well!

Like Diane I think both are good. However, low contrast and columns of color are really appealing to me these days. The pink t is pretty on you.

I've been pairing fluid tees with white jeans. In general these days I am going for lower contrast looks than ever before, but I also tried a higher contrast look for fun. I can see the pink tee outfit with more refined, lower contrast footwear, but I was headed out to walk the dog. The cut across the waist in the high contrast outfit is severe, so I tried to mitigate it with low contrast options in each half of the outfit (shoes, jewelry).

What do you think? Is low or high contrast appealing to you these days?

pink tee: Joie
charcoal tee: Mango
jeans: Kut Catherine Slim BF
sneakers: Cons
pumps: Stuart Weitzman

Sorry for the dog bed and picture in the second photo!
