I say keep hunting for a shirtdress similar to #1, because aside from the shoulder line it works well! Id like to see that cream top with a lower contrast bottom, since you're overall fairly low contrast like me.

Everyone: thank you all so much for your insightful advice. I can completely see all of your points. My thoughts so far:
Zara shirtdress: No. Shoulders not working. Sizing down doesn’t work on my tummy area.
Gorman blue speckled pants: under consideration still. Quality excellent, colour irl is gorgeous. The speckled bits are cream and cobalt. However I don’t feel super confident about how well they would work with my jacket/sweater capsule.
Cream blouse: the front runner at the moment. Comfortable, and small enough to fit my shoulders/upper arms whilst still allowing me enough room on the tummy. A rare thing. Will go beautifully with 3-4 of my bottoms. However may not play nicely with my cardis and jackets...
stripe top: No. I feel it’s not super flattering. However a good quality piece, very thick.
Gorman dress: a possibility still. I can see that the armpit is a little off, and it’s loose-fit/oversized to the point it may look too relaxed for work. However almost every single pair of my shoes plus several of my jackets would work with it! So that keeps it in contention still. A rare thing in a dress... often it’s hard to find suitable toppers....

Thank you again everyone for your astute eyes!! I appreciate it :). I’ll keep thinking on it for a while.

Love the first sleeveless top and pants. Also the second - they are flapper-esque. Second dress is great too.

Jussie, the first dress is too wide on the shoulders. Pity. Super cute potential.

Cream top is GORGEOUS. Pants have potential after a hack. At the moment, the length is neither here nor there. Fabulous trendy look.

Can't see the fit of the striped top well enough, but I like it.

Pass on the patterned dress - armholes are too long.

The cream sleeveless top is beautiful on you! And looks great with the trousers.
You look happy wearing that colorful shirt dress. Agree that it looks better without the trousers.
And the shoulders on the Zara dress also look wrong to my eye.

I like the Gorman dress best on its own. Care bear colors! With the pants, the outfit seems to overwhelm you.. Are the pants a light weight wool that you would wear them with a sleeveless top?

I like both tops on you, but as Bijou said, the combo of the light colored top with those pants is much more flattering than the striped top with those pants. I could see you rocking the striped top with some slim bottoms. I much prefer the Gorman dress without the pants, or with much slimmer bottoms, for the same reason. The volume overpowers you if worn with the relaxed pants. Sounds like everyone has you sorted with the Zara dress.

Jussie - by coincidence I have the very same Zara dress which is pending a decision (love the stripe/floral pattern and the front tie), but I also found the sizing strange on it. I am usually an S in Zara dresses but had to take an M in this for it not to pull/gape ... I may well return it.

The Zara dress does look a bit big, which is a shame, because otherwise it is lovely on you.

I like the proportions of #3 far more than #4 - the striped top and pants are both a loose fit, so you don't really showcase your lovely slim figure. As a fan of colour, the Gorman shirt dress is lovely and my favourite piece, this one is a 10/10!

I was going to suggest a size down in the Zara dress, but you tried that. I can’t see much detail on the pants. The white top is great! The striped one a bit harder to assess from the picture, but seems ok. And the bright dress is so cute on you! If you have places to wear it, that’s a keeper.

I remember you said you are striving for a more boho-chic style, but have you considered the classic style identity? I'm thinking classic natural or classic romantic. I'm by no means an expert, but the classic cuts and silhouettes seems to suit you so well! I esp like the outfit in pic 1 and 2.

Yes, I think the shoulder fit in the first dress isn’t quite right - the last piece, the shirt dress, fits you better at the shoulder- and the brighter colours are really lovely on you.
I also really like the trousers and 2 tops, with a slight preference for how the line of the cropped white top sits with the trouser waist on you.

Hope that’s helpful.
