Beautiful dress. I think it would work with a number of different black shoes. I think the only possibly tricky part might be finding toppers that still let the texture of the dress stay in the foreground and don't compete with it - but there should still be many that would work.

I'm not sure it's quite short enough for knee high gladiators. I was thinking that stopped around my ankles. I have a hard time keeping keeping the sandal types straight in my head, so I might have said the wrong one.

I hadn't thought about D'Orsay flats, Day. Thanks!

Oh that's so cute! I would never have know that the fabric was crochet and not printed. I love this with the green sweater. I agree with the sandal choice for summer. You could also do D'Orsay flats for a more refined look.

That is such a sweet dress, K! Knee high gladiator sandals would totally look amazing (if the dress is short enough- can't quite tell).

I've seen quite a few dresses I liked that have a crocheted layer, but they never seemed to work for me. So I was pretty happy when I found this dress (and a sale makes it a little better). I think I like it better because it's a darker color doesn't looks quite as frilly to me. I think this dress should also work as a spring/summer dress because it still feels very light. I'll probably switch to a lighter colored cardigan as it is closer to summer.

Dress - French Connection
Cardigan - J. Crew Outlet
Belt - J. Crew Outlet
Shoes - Lifestride

I think a pair of strappy or gladiator sandals would work as well. What do you think? Or if you have another idea, I'd love to hear it.
