love the "grey out", love the way you have layered the colors and texture. for me texture is so important in "xxx" out outfits.
as for the sweater , i actually like it both ways. i saw it in the store but didn't think much of it, but seeing you model it has made me rethink it.

I think you look great in gray! But then I like the color, and have no idea which shades look best, don't look best, and I'm wearing it today myself :)

I like the coat unzipped all the way, and those sweatpant jeans are fantastic.

Ok, this is my type of outfit. I LOVE that sweater. And I'm all over freakishly spindly arms if one can fool everyone that way And printed sweat pant jeans? Whatever those are, I'm intrigued. Not sure I have the body for them, but if I did , I'd be all over it. Anyways, you look super cute, and I think all pieces here work perfectly together !

You look beautiful in this outfit, Shiny. I think the scarf and boots really finish the outfit. The top is amazing--I would love to have something like that! I like it un-zipped both ways--partly and all the way. So fun and versatile! Cute puffer and beanie, too, and the tan or cognac bag is a classic touch.

Thanks Angie! The beanie is Club Monaco, I picked it up when I bought the two sparkly tops. Last year's (white/cream) beanie was also from there. I've been wanting to add a beanie in a color other than white (my usual standby) or black for a long while. This shade of grey seemed perfect -- for all my coats. And it's super warm (not acrylic).

The blue booties... I bought these a couple years ago when I duplicated - I have the same pair in black (wear constantly) and leopard. So comfy. I wear the blue suede the least. I am trying to find more ways to wear them.

They are the dark wash - I feel like these have to have some unusual detail to make the photo print work, so a couple of washes didn't work for me (the black).

I love the top and thinks it's fun however you want to wear it, now that I can see the details on the site.maybe zipped more with a baggy butt, and looser with skinnies?

I'm wearing the sweat pant jeans once a week - I can't wait until Sunday rolls around to wear them again. HA. I could live in these. So comfy. And have fooled so many people, who think they are jeans.

It also heartens me because it makes me feel more positive that I could actually one of these days find drapey trousers that would work for me. I don't know if it's the strategically placed printing, or if it's the slimmer cut in the legs, or what.

I was going to wait and post a weeks' worth of WiW together, but inspired by Thistle's "Be Gone Grey" post, TorontoGirl's "Musings from the SAHM Front" and other posts today, I submit to you - WiW yesterday: GREY OUT!

Scarf: BR (last year)
Top: Ann Taylor (new)
Bottoms: Printed Sweat pant jeans
Bag: Coach
Puffer: MK
Booties: Impo

It's a LOT of grey, isn't it? That's why I went with blue suede booties. Still too much grey? Does this shade of grey work for me?

I also have questions about the top:

The top is new, I bought it a few weeks back, thinking it would be perfect for work/ business travel. For a knit, it is surprisingly warm, so this is the first debut. I decided to dress it down for Sunday casual, with the printed sweat pant jeans. I found it to be incredibly comfortable. And toasty.

The question is -- how is a top like this supposed to be zipped in the back??? I had it zipped lower as in pic 2, before we went out. I couldn't get a good pic of the back, with my new selfie friend, because I have to twist around. I didn't like the rear view, but I figured it was the twisting I had to do to get a photo. Then later when we came back home for the day, DH entertained me and took some rear view pics, including 4-5-6-7. I realized from his later pics that it looks better unzipped nearly all the way? Do you agree? It changes the line a bit in the front though. But doesn't look lumpy in the upper back (did I mention when I gain weight, I gain it first in my upper body, including my back???). What do you think?

I will have to add DH isn't crazy about this top. I thought he'd say because it shows no waist or shape. But instead, his specific critique was "it makes you look like you have freakishly spindly arms." I actually *like* that and consider it a major feature, when the rest of the top is worn loose and oversize. Fashion mavens, you be the judge.... (incidentally this has a crew neckline which my eye is adapting to for work purposes. I have no pics without the scarf, which I kept on the whole day, inside and out).

The MK puffer is also new. I've given up all hope on finding a new wool coat this year, so I spent my coat budget on a short puffer instead. Short enough it works for an airplane or car ride (aka taxi). This is packable puffer, so it packs down into a tiny bag. It is not going to be warm enough for deepest darkest winter here, but perfectly toasty for my southern winter business travel, which was the goal.

To TorontoGirl: if I was a SAHM today, I'd totally embrace an outfit like this for every day. Except with more practical lower heeled booties than shown here.
