Go the Wallabies! We beat the Kiwis to win the cricket World Cup in March....hopefully it will be a repeat tonight. A tall order with the All Blacks.<br /> FYI the green and gold was selected from the colours of Acacia pycnantha, commonly known as golden wattle, our national floral emblem. These national sports colours were proclaimed in 1984 by the then Governor- General, Sir Ninian Stephens under the advice of the then Prime Minister, Bob Hawke.<br /> I don't think it is so much the colours that ruins our Olympic uniforms, it is more often uninteresting design. Look at the Jamaicans for example, same national colours, but far more hip clothing design and they always look fabulous. Who is responsible for this travesty? It haunts us at every Olympic Games!!! But today in response to Sally's post I tried to rise to the challenge and do a green and gold outfit to support the Aussie team. (And they will need support against the mighty All Blacks.)<br /> This is not the sort of thing I would normally wear to work but I was going out to a retirement lunch for a dear colleague so I looked dressed for the occasion. Plus I got bulk brownie points from my male colleagues when I explained the green and gold theme.<br /> Green: the dress. Although one of my colleagues claimed it was black!<br /> Gold: the cuff, ring and bag (goldish?) I am also wearing gold nail polish which I hastily and messily applied. (Whenever I do nail polish I am reminded why I don't do nail polish.)<br /> Go the Wallabies!!! </p>
