You know, even though I haven't been in the forums for months I still read Angie's blog - and I think all the sneaker/loafer/oxford hype is actually finally sinking in to me!

These Jeans are actually "short" but obviously made for heels. I didn't have to hem them at all, but I guess now I'll have to do that to accommodate the flats.

Me either, honestly. Boot cuts are so hard because they have to keep the boot shape despite taking the inches off. I sometimes buy them in petites just to get the shorter length.

Good news is the loafer trend and the slip on sneakers trend are nice and low heeled.

@Thistle: I'm starting to feel that way as well. The total heel height of these Gemmas is 2.25, and my shins were starting to give me pain.

I'll need to learn to communicate with the tailor how PPL can be achieved with thicker soled flats. I've never had a tailor hem bootcuts correctly for me.

Lovely outfit! I can't wear high heels, but my comfort zone is 1-1.5 inches. 2 is just too high for comfort.

It's been a while ladies!

All the work/school juggling has taken me away from my YLF time so it's nice to be back now that I'm sort of in between semesters.

I haven't posted a WIW in ages, but I am so sorry about the terrible quality. I have not had a chance to duck into the store because I was carrying a package (of my new Fluevog flats HAR HAR!) and it was weighing on my injured shoulder. I was also supposed to send a bunch of clothes to the tailor, but decided against it.

So this is me diving into bootcuts again. This time, I found the best cut and a great way to wear it. I've avoided bootcuts since I gained weight 3-4 years ago because it made me look frumpy. Not this time. These lovelies made me feel so tall and graceful - just the feeling I used to have when I swore by bootcuts pre-2007.

And yes... I am wearing heels, but... I first tried them with my insoles at home (Dr. Scholls custom orthotics - it feels amazing and painless with thick soled flats). They felt amazing... Then, I started walking on pavement... That's when I felt the ball of foot pressure again. I thought that because they're Naots, they will be super comfy. They are relatively comfortable compared to most - but I still get very mild shin pain and ball of foot pressure.

Bummed. I look so graceful in these heels and this PPL on my bootcuts...

So that's why I didn't go to the tailor to hem the other 2 Bootcuts I own: because I can never wear them with these heels anymore! I'm trying to decide whether to go with Naot heels that are less than 2 inches or go with flats for good. So I'll have to hold off on hemming until I decide whether 1.5 to 2 inch heels are comfortable enough. In the end, the very slight bit of soreness and pain my heels gave me was not worth further injuring my arthritic/bunioned feet. It's not worth going to surgery for.

So sorry I was a bit ranty, but hey... At least I like this outfit enough to share it :)

Jeans: Rachel by Rachel Roy (recommended for ladies with apple tendencies)
Top: cable and Gauge
Jacket: Sandro (from Winners)
Boots: Naot Gemma (2.75" heel, .5" platform)
Bling: obsessions and Bizou
