And amongst the many diverse things I enjoy reading I also enjoy the distraction of zombie apocalypse novels ( I highly recommend the book World War Z --which is nothing like the movie).<b></p> <p>ironkurtin</b>, totally agree about a more fitted foundation &nbsp;probably looking better. However, yesterday was one of those lovely hormonal bloat days. When that happens no matter how much the objective part of my brain recognizes that slimmer/tighter is not making me look hefty today&nbsp;it *feels* like it does to the irrational part of my brain. So out the window went the slim fit distressed jeans and on came the loose and slouchy ones.</p> <p>I actually tried a belt with it (cuz, you are so right, I need a belt to protect my belly from zombies. I also wouldn't actually wear oxfords in the apocalypse either. I'd wear one of my pairs of sh*t kicker leather moto boots to protect my ankles from those sneaky bastards that are just lying in wait under abandoned cars.&nbsp;</p> <p>Alas, I found I didn't like any of my belts with the heavy hardware of the jacket and the jacket's built in belt (even if I didn't zip and buckle it). So I finally decided I was over thinking it and just rolled with it as is.</p> <p>...and I can only hope when the apocalypse comes the zombies will want my jackets and not my brains. I'm pretty certain I have enough good jackets to hold them off for years. My brain, on the other hand, probably nothing more than sugary snack&nbsp;;-)</p> <p><b>adorkable</b> I'll totally be on your team against the zombies! We could gather a group of Urban Warrior Princesses from here and kick some serious butt! ...and the pinstripes on the shirt are a fine, medium gray color on the white shirt. I feel like there's a lot of surface interest and volume and the effect would be tighter with a more streamlined foundation. Also, you need a belt! That could be interesting." </p> <p>Think Fred Astaire's gentlemanly polish with Marlon Brando's rugged rebel. I'd call both of those styles quite masculine, just in very different ways --opposite ends of the masculine spectrum, if you will.</p> <p>So out came the perfect badass, masculine leather&nbsp;moto jacket to wear for the zombie apocalypse. </p> <p>Why is it perfect, you might ask? (or not, most folks don't actually think about these things but I find it a pleasant creative thought distraction from the stress of everyday life).</p> <p>It's perfect because it's pretty bite-proof and has built in weapons to defend against zombies. The leather is thick. There are massive and heavy/solid&nbsp;keyboard-key sized metal studs along the bottom arms&nbsp;and around the neck area. If I swing my arm to hit a zombie in this I'll very likely crush his skull. If he tries to sneak up and bite my neck he's going to break his teeth&nbsp;on a mouthful of metal studs and heavy leather.</p> <p>But I digress (it's easy to digress when talking about surviving a&nbsp;zombie apocalypse).</p> <p>The gentlemanly polish part of the outfit&nbsp;comes in the form of a vintage fedora, crisp pinstriped menswear collared shirt and oxfords. </p> <p>The rest of the masculine rebel element&nbsp;comes into play with the jeans. Slouchy-skinny BF types that have a thick and&nbsp;stiff structure to them (I believe they have some kind of stiffening agent or wax coating or something built into the material&nbsp;that makes it slightly stiffer than regular denim). The color is a dark blue/gray/black with what looks like really old oil stains broadly permeating&nbsp;the fabric --like my dad's old jeans that he wore when working on cars. They aren't actually stained. This is the way they were made and I find the effect really cool and unusual in it's subtlety.</p> <p>So putting it all together the result is a&nbsp;juxtaposition of Manly Man against Refined Gentleman. All worn by a woman.</p> <p>I did manage to *wink* at femininity with this outfit as well. On a whim&nbsp;I chose to have my nails painted hot&nbsp;pink/fuschia when I had them done last week. A color that is waaaay outside the direction I normally go in nail color. It just happens to match the hot pink silk lining of that oh-so-masculine moto jacket (you can't really see the lining&nbsp;in the photos). So when I would move or shift throughout the day you'd get a flash of hot pink to match the vibrant pink nails.</p> <p>Take that zombies.
