It buttons up, so no issues.</div><div><br /></div><div><b>Brooklyn </b>I remember you posted about the Eileen Fishers and even gave a tip on them being on sale if I am remembering correctly and that is when I bought them.</div><div><b>Suz </b>I first bought these in my usual size 8 and the straps felt like they were falling off my foot. I waited patiently to find a size 71/2 and finally found them on sale ( I was determined not to pay full price). When they arrived I didn't notice any real issue with fit. Like you my first wear was a considerable walk in hot weather and I was miserable. I tried again at work and my foot feels "trapped" in these shoes, if that makes any sense. Almost like my foot is too "tall" for the straps. I have gently pulled on the leather straps and I thought this had done the trick, but eventually the shoes bother me again. I'm wondering if it is possible to have the straps stretched by a shoe shop? The first time I wore them I thought they were going to be a big "NO" because I (stupidly, in hindsight) tried to wear them on a hot day for a 3 mile walk.&nbsp;</p> <p>Also, the top of the back of the heel felt a bit high for my foot and perhaps rigid. And the inner sole also felt a bit odd, somehow -- there was a rubbing.&nbsp;</p> <p>Sounds horrible, doesn't it?&nbsp;</p> <p>But amazingly enough they *did* "break in" after a series of shorter wears, and now I wear them comfortably for miles and miles. The pants are so very comfortable that I purchased the full length version as well but need to hem them.
