So here we go:<br />1. Those silent looks and slight adjustments of behavior. I am glad you brought this up - I know exactly what you mean and I have wondered if it is my imagination, but it isn't, is it? Even at my age, I feel the difference when I look more conventionally flattered. It slightly freaks me out, frankly.<br />2.&nbsp; The blouse, hair, makeup combination is amazing on you and you look gorgeous.&nbsp;<br />3. About dated - as Angie says dated is dated. Nonetheless, there are ways to make this look more "current". To me the blouse works so beautifully it doesn't read at all as dated.&nbsp;You *could* substitute the jeggings for slim jeans or narrow pants. Or even kick flares. But is it really important to you to look more current? <br />4. And many folk in our everyday lives don't follow or aren't even aware of what's trendy (as evidenced by the indirect compliments) - they react positively to what looks harmonious to them. But what's most important is how YOU feel the most in harmony. If you like the outfit, rock it! </p> <p>That said, if you want a more trending look, you could achieve that with the accessories/ supporting act? Wide leg crops sound like a good way to do that, or maybe trendy shoes/ bag? It’s an older Torrid blouse. The colors are 1000% dark autumn. It is sheer chiffon, tunic length, and has a curved hi-low hem. This is a cut and style I wore a TON 5-10 years ago when I was in my hipster-bohemian phase. I have transitioned recently to softer bombshell looks. Or at least, I’ve been aiming for that. </p> <p>This is probably a dated style to some degree. Yet, I actually got a lot of silent second look type compliments and men opening doors for me, picking up things that fell off the grocery counter, etc—which rarely happens, even in soft bombshell. Maybe I should go back to tunics and leggings??? What do you all think? I honestly was worried I looked pudgy or pregnant wearing the empire waistline. But the reactions make me wonder if it’s still a worthwhile look to keep in rotation. </p> <p>One style idea I am percolating on… I don’t wear width well. Still, I would like to try this tunic with a pair of culottes or cropped wide leg jeans and boots or sneakers. I think it could be a very exciting combo. </p> <p>Blouse: Torrid, secondhand<br /> Jeggings: Walmart; ooooooldd and worn.<br /> Sandals: Sofft<br /> Makeup: lipstick is Revlon Raisin Rage; blush is Nars Taos; eyeshadows are TooFaced Chocolate Bar (disc. palette). </p>
