Humorously, I was glad when I passed the age where most of my friends were getting married and having weddings because it meant my BF and I didn't have to slow dance anymore. As ridiculous as we look standing next to one another we look even more silly slow dancing ;-)</p> <p>Here's a picture of us this past August in the Dominican Republic. My work took the entire company for just under a week. They had a photo shoot with props for attendees, hence my unique headgear and his clown nose (like we don't look ridiculous enough with the height differential the props definitely added to the humor!&nbsp;</p> <p><b>Neel,</b> You'll defnitely see the goodies showing up in some WIW photos. As usual I wore my "formula" for flea market dressing:</p> <p>1. Multiple layers so I can layer down as the the sun comes up and it gets warmer<br />2. Super comfortable and easy to take off/put on boots or shoes in case I want to try shoes on while there<br />3. Snug t-shirt or tank (in case I want to try something on over it)<br />4. Cashmere hoodie or sweater (for warmth)<br />5. Hat (or hair is up in a headband --as long as it's out of the way)<br />6. Moto jacket or heavy top sweater with pockets<br />7. Large cross-body bag that holds tons of stuff and allows me to be hands free<br />8. No jewelry of any kind</p> <p>Flea market dressing is all about casual comfort where I just don't much care how I look. The adjustment I made yesterday was instead of one of my leather moto jackets, it was mild enough for a cotton one (and I didn't need a scarf or gloves). </p> <p>I chose my Leopard moto because the other consideration at a market as large as Long Beach's is that&nbsp;I need to make it easier for my BF to spot me in a crowd. It's easy to spot him if we get slightly separated. He's 6 ft. 6 inches tall. </p> <p>Me at 4ft. 11.5 inches? Not so much.&nbsp;</p> <p>I forgot to grab my bag for the photo but it's the ideal flea market shopping bag I've had for like 17 years. A black nylon messenger bag with numerous pockets/compartments that make it easy for me to grab either my wallet from the zippered main compartment&nbsp;or my loupe from the exterior pocket. I bought it years ago at Levi's outlet on Cape Cod (where I'm originally from)&nbsp;&nbsp;and that bag has been to almost every antiques fair and flea market that exists. It ain't pretty but, damn, is it functional.</p> <p>Picked up some cool stuff at Long beach. A pretty boho/hippie printed and embroidered sundress in my colors, a boho embroidered leather&nbsp;belt that goes beautifully with the dress, a vintage 70's indian blanket sweater,&nbsp;several vintage hats (I have a small head so vintage hats always fit me better than contemporary ones), and some bits and baubles of jewelry.</p> <p>I passed on a gorgeous pair of Fiorentini and Baker Eli moto boots in a gorgeous burnished gold shade. I'm sort of regretting it now, but not really. The boots retail for over $500 and the seller wanted $250. She wouldn't budge on the price and the number I was willing to pay in my head was only $200 (which is still much more than I normally pay for something at the flea market). So I chose to walk away.&nbsp;</p> <p>Anyway, here's my outfit. Totally grunge and definitely flea market attire:</p> <p><b>Gray newsboy hat</b>: Goorin Bros. Burbank (via ebay)<br /><b>Gray v-neck boyfriend tee</b>: Recently acquired at Aeropostale.com on sale for $2.99<br /><b>Dark Brown&nbsp;Cashmere Hoodie</b>: Juicy couture (via ebay)<br /><b>Leopard Cotton Moto jacket</b>: Tripp NYC (via ebay)<br /><b>Beat up, super distressed/patched and&nbsp;big/slouchy BF jeans</b>: Aeropostale Kylie BF (bought these in both size 0, which I'm wearing here, and 00 and am loving both --one is just slightly less oversized than the other --plus they were on sale for $16.88 each)<br /><b>Boots</b>: Frye Studded Philip Harness in Chocolate glazed vintage (this finish is a&nbsp;really rough, beat up, cracked finish that looks like the boots have been beat up for 50 years so the more you wear them and beat them up the better they look!&nbsp;&nbsp;(via Zappos)<br /><b>Brass studded dark brown leather&nbsp;belt</b> (hard to see in photos but it is covered in circular brass studs): Bedstu (via Zappos)<br />&nbsp; </p>
