#1 is the all-around champ, but the last is well proportioned. However, the cool factor in 2 is high - so it's my fave

I think many of here tend be less inclined towards posting casual outfits because they feel more, well, casual.... but many of us also struggle in this area so they're always great to see! #1 and #2 look super. For #2 a dressier/woven top would certainly up the ante a bit, and you could always sub in one of your tees for #1 to dress it down a bit if you felt too PMy. #3 looks like a cute fall back look; the jeans are great on you and work very nicely tucked into the boots. I feel you with #5 (similar work boat here, though I don't really have co-workers I see daily). My solution to that particular issue to keep those more masculine shirts for weekend wear (or at the very least pair with skinnies + dainty AND pretty footwear or with dramatic flared pants that the guys wouldn't be wearing) and then for work I opt for silky versions, plaid or otherwise, because it is instantly more feminine than that typical engineer "look".

@Smittie: I definitely plan to repeat #1 with minor variations in the pieces (slimmer BF jeans, black booties, a different long necklace). It's actually quite comfortable despite the woven fabrications, because the leather jacket has knit insets and the BF jeans are slouchy.

@Angie: Aww, thank you! I do like the drama of the Leith cardi despite being small-boned and petite. Maybe I'll try this outfit silhouette again with a slightly less casual top. Something about crewneck tees makes me feel sloppy, but I've managed to collect quite a few that all have meaning (and I do enjoy wearing them in ultra-casual ensembles).

@Jenn: Hmm, I have a black v-neck tee and have been on a crochet scarf kick lately... thank you for the inspiration, long cardigan twin

I like both #1 and #2 a lot! Actually #2 is my favorite, maybe because I've worn a really similar outfit.

You are ADORABLE all round, KL. The skinnies tucked into the booties looks just fine.

I like #1 best too, but the drama in #2 suits you just as well - it's an extra interesting look seeing as you were uninspired putting it together.

@Una: I actually went back to Anthro a week after buying the Mother skinnies to try on the size up (the ones I have are in my usual 26). But the SA agreed strongly with me that the size up was too big in the hip and butt, with creasing that ruined the structured-bodycon look. They are awesome jeans though, if a bit above my usual premium denim price point (I have several pairs of AG purchased at varying levels of sale).

I found a pair of these exact jeans at the consignment store (maybe a different wash) and they are a size up from my usual, but are a perfect skinny fit with just a wee slouch. They are my favorite jeans! It does bother me when jeans bunch like that in boots ON ME. On others, not so much.

My fave here is the last oufit! Probably because I have a less feminine aesthetic.

My favorite is number 1, it is very flattering on you.
I think the Leith topper is a bit long on you. I have a similar one that I have not worn because it looks too long on me. I wish they had made it in petite sizes.

So far I've only posted special-occasion WIW's to the forum, both because I feel awkward taking photos of myself without a "reason" and because, well, I have a better handle on special-occasion dressing so I like the resulting outfits much more.

On a different note, here are some everyday WIW's from the past two weeks. Not everything works to my eye, but no major fails either.

1) My favorite outfit of this set: Danier dove gray leather blazer, Loft blush lace tee (layered over a nude silk cami, so much comfier than a typical cotton camisole), the baggier of my Lucky BF jeans, well-worn rust suede Aldo booties, and a delicate brass necklace from Etsy. I love the feminine edge and (surprisingly) the soft, muted color palette with dark hair and shoes to ground it.

2) This is more typical of what I throw on when I'm feeling uninspired, and I'm not super happy with the proportions. Leith long burgundy cardigan from Nordie's (an Angie's pick during NAS last year), screen-printed graphic tee gifted from my BF's mother, dark-wash skinny jeans, and black moto booties. I chose the cardigan at the last minute to "dress up" a t-shirt-and-jeans outfit, but I think it would have worked better to stick with my original vibe and just wear a fitted hoodie.

I wore 1 and 2 on consecutive days... #1 felt like a PM (product manager) outfit and #2 definitely made me feel like an engineer (but I AM an engineer and my environmental norm is closer to #2).

3/4) I apologize for the terrible lighting; now you can see why most of my selfies are taken in the work bathroom. The jeans here, by Mother, are true skinnies all the way to my ankles and actually light-wash (see Find below). The waist is a teensy bit tighter than ideal, like a woven blazer or a skirt with no stretch... I think I'm prepared to sacrifice full comfort for style in this case, because they make my legs look amazing and don't bag out at all in the rear. I was experimenting with tucking them into my moto boots -- there's a bit of bunching, but do you think it works?

This outfit is what I'd consider an ideal FFBO; I'm still trying to figure out why it makes me happier than my other fallbacks, like #5 below. The other items are a merino wool JC Tippi sweater in my happy color (but sadly it has developed a hole) and an old onyx-and-pearl silver necklace from China that broke while I was wearing it that day. Thankfully, the necklace can be repaired and I'm going to attempt to restring it myself, just waiting on supplies to arrive.

5) WIW today! JC thick flannel plaid buttondown with old AG green skinnies (color starting to fade now) and the same Aldo booties I've been wearing all winter. I've worn holes into the heels of these shoes already--the downside of a lower price point.

This outfit is... fine. Buttondowns are easy to fit on my body type (small-busted rectangle with no waist) and look more polished than a tee + cardigan/hoodie. Plus, the color scheme here is very much my style. So why am I dissatisfied? I don't know; I ran out of the house without thinking to check my jewelry box, but necklaces tend to get lost against the busy plaid and jewel tones of this shirt. I think it's not quite feminine, nor edgy-eclectic, enough. The look is basically what my better-dressed male colleagues wear. It's comfortable and practical, but not "pretty."

I'm still trying to figure out my style adjectives and persona. What do you all think? Have anything to add to my (long) self-analysis?
