I love this with the soft fluid blouse and tight wild jeans! I prefer without the blazer and boots would have been a killer addition.

I adore the look of leopard against a classic white top, nice job! The shoes are fun, but I'm with others, they seem off to me because they are a softer color and the leopard and white top seem more bold in color tone to me. I think the shoes would be great against a mid or light was blue or mid or light grey.

@TracyLiz: for me, this is neutrals. Ha! Leopard is one of my go-to neutrals, and white is a back up for me. So, to me, this is an outfit of neutrals because it's not got any colour pow. But, because these are PANTS!*, I feel like I want to keep the rest of the look sort of subdued, so it's not overwhelming, if that makes sense? (This is progress: it's not so far gone in my past that I would've felt I had to have something that was equally loud to keep up with the PANTS!) I think when I get my cut out booties, that's the shoe I'll wear with them the most.

@JulieJohn: I was surprised at how drawn I was to them in the sping; I'd just about given up on finding a white button front I didn't hate. I love the LOOK of a crisply startched button front, but every time I've tried to incorporate one, I get really frustrated by it. This has been a perfect solution for me, and I love the variety of colourways available. However, the downside is that I feel like Express caters to wee people. I don't think I'm a particularly large woman, but going in always makes me feel like the Jolly Green Giantess. (And I love those shoes - surprisingly neutral, too. They end up getting worn when I need something that's not matchy-matchy, but goes, because they go with most anything. Except, apparently, this pair of skinnies. Ha!)

* PANTS! in my boyfriend's terminology: "Most people just wear 'pants.' They're serviceable, but not notable. They're just pants. Those are 'PANTS!' because they are an outfit all on their own." Also falling into the 'PANTS!' category are my snow leopard skinnies and my floral jeans, but, interestingly, not coloured denim.

Fabulous outfit! You clearly have the attitude to pull off the leopard jeans. ;)
I here ya on button down shirts. I feel claustrophobic in them. I recently purchased two shirts that are woven in the front but the sleeves and back are knit so they feel much more comfortable.

That blouse looks like a great wardrobe workhorse. I can't get behind many button-downs, too stiff for my bohemian ways. But this looks so comfy and lovely, it might even make me look pulled together. Nice shoes, unicorn ha ha.

These jeans look fabulous on you, and so perfect with the blouse. I agree with your assessments exactly on the topper and shoes. Jeans and shirt though are standout together.

Suz: I sized up to a large because I wanted the drapeyness (?? is that a word?), and I have broad-ish shoulders that I often find things get hung up on. I cannot deal with anything that feels like it's catching on my shoulders, and since I've begun wearing a slimmer cut pant, I like more volume up top. Add in a longer torso, and up sizing I go! (Which is why I wear a lot of knits - wovens aren't as forgiving, I think)

I think it's pretty TTS, and has a nice drape when it's more fitted, but my personal issues made me size up.

Thanks, VernieJane. I didn't have any black shoes with me, so that wasn't an option, but I did end up changing into the gold glitter flats from yesterday's post (http://anniemouse.lookfab.com/.....the-office)

The blouse is this shirt in true white:
http://www.express.com/clothin...../cat910018 (and on sale!)
It's a bit sheer, but I've found it to be one of the only button-front shirts I can stand - a more cotton-y fabric feels too stiff and rustly to me.

LOVE love love the shirt. It's a pretty amazing shirt. Fun trousers. The only thing bothering me about this are the flats--they seem out of place. They are cute, don't get me wrong, but I think black flats, or black wedges would be great. Nice look!

I'll have a long day today, so it's a more casual/ comfy day in the office. These leopard jeans have just enough stretch that they don't get bind-y feeling, and the slouchy bblouse makes me feel dressed up without feeling stifled. I'm not quite sold on the jacket, but grabbed it as a "just in case" kinda topper. I was planning to wear boots, but when I looked at the weather today, I nixed that (90+? Maybe the saddle brown knee boots aren't QUITE ready to come out of the closet after all). The shoes are NOT ideal, but they're what I had packed and available, so they're what I went with.

1) Portofino blouse from Express, dusty pink boaty v-neck (thrifted, under the blouse), leopard jeans (GoJane), black grommet belt (purchased, no lie, in 1993)
2) Same, just slightly longer shot
3) Same, with addition of cropped black Express jacket (... meh, but it adds a little structure where I feel like things could get too loose)
4) Prismatic "magic unicorn" (as a colleague calls them) ballet flats (ASOS, last summer)(I love these shoes, just maybe not with this? I feel like I should've gone with yesterday's glitter flats again, maybe)
