But we love our warm home and it's so great to have the space and&nbsp;place to invite friends over to.</p> <p><b>Beth Ann</b> :: I am guilty of delaying getting a helmet, but then realised a) I'm behaving irresponsibly, and b) how can I expect my child to take my advice seriously if I don't lead the way. Of course, the helmet does additional havoc to my crushed winter&nbsp;hair, so beanie saves the day a lot. <br />Scary stories about DH and one more warning to take things seriously.</p> <p><b>abc</b> :: most of my outfits from after the move to Germany are addressing&nbsp;urban&nbsp;cycling wardrobe challenge. Getting on the bike instead of having a car&nbsp;was one huge change of the lifestyle in general, and something I embraced wholeheartedly :-)<br />I make advent calendar each year. I love it. It's one of our family traditions and I stay up late on November 30th if I have to.&nbsp;It's aways some small parcels with sweets or tiny Lego pieces which, when collected, make up a small toy.&nbsp;This year the theme has been somewhat more grown-up - I added money inside the parcels, mostly the small change. This is the year when DS started figuring out the whole concept of money and we've&nbsp;been very keen to teach him that every single cent&nbsp;has both value and importance, especially because we started hearing how&nbsp;the kids at school comment things "kidX or kidY say 0.01€ is not a lot of money". Our question "Do you have 1€ of you have 99c and not the remaining 1c?" seemed to have relayed the desired message&nbsp;instantly.</p> <p><b>Astrid</b> :: for me it's the lack of time&nbsp;(housework, final unpacking&nbsp;and&nbsp;job hunting / researching take up a lot of my time). Taking photos has suffered as result, but I make mental notes and think that I&nbsp;must make a record for my own archive at least. I actually love the reduced wardrobe I've been working with, it's been so liberating. I would not mind more interesting variations of my main basics, but this had been another great exercise in fine tuning, so - win win.</p> <p><b>Suz</b> :: this is an old puffer, bought in July 2012, a month after moving to Germany when I pounced as soon as I got YLF approval&nbsp;because I was so worried about the continental winter. It's not as warm as my long black puffer bought last winter&nbsp;(midi length on me!), but it is more practical for cycling because of the length. <br />Yes, I layer puffer vest underneath. I have not properly commented, posted, nor taken WIW for ages. I do stop by and quickly browse the news and latest threads, but things are a bit busy in general for more active participation. Not happy with that &gt;:(&nbsp;</p> <p>Anyway, in the spirit of keeping my head above the water, here is a postcard from my&nbsp;life in the form of&nbsp;On-The-Go outfit consisting of&nbsp;one of my two fluid tops (black or great sweater) with skinnies (practical for cycling), a scarf from the significantly downsized&nbsp;collection,&nbsp;puffer vest layered for extra warmth when needed,&nbsp;and&nbsp;lipstick.</p> <p>I recently bought the new helmet. With all those pink and red&nbsp;flowers&nbsp;it's so girly, but it was the only one that could fit on my head and over the hat - and I actually love it.</p> <p>Bonus photo of this year's advent calendar installation :-)</p> <p>Thanks for stopping by.&nbsp;</p> </p>
