Warm, cozy and a hat to fight the effects of curly hair in the wind (we curly-heads don't do "windswept" hair looks very well. I tend to look like Roseanne Roseanna Danna on a really bad hair day when it gets windy and/or humid).</p> <p>I've had this leather bomber style vest since back when I worked for Zappos (it's made by Hurley and was on sale for $50 --at the time I also got 40% off everything as an employee so my all-in cost for it ended up being $30. Not too shabby for a real leather vest!). It's lined in a cozy cream faux fur and has an oversized collar you can flip upwards as a wind barrier if needed.</p> <p>Added a basic cream cashmere v-neck and some texture in the form of distressed-finish teracotta colored skinny jeans. The vintage cashmere scarf actually picks up on all of the colors used elsewhere in the outfit (it is cream and dark brown with subtle orange stripes in it).</p> <p>I thought the vintage belt added &nbsp;interest with it's additional pattern, again falling in the same earth tones&nbsp;color family.</p> <p>This "uniform" is definitely a workhorse&nbsp;&nbsp;formula combo I gravitate towards and I was warm and comfy all day. Although, it got windy enough that I did find myself somewhat regretting&nbsp;my hat choice. Not for style reasons but because this particular hat is just a tiny bit big on me. There were several gusts of wind that were strong enough that my hat attempted to escape with the wind :-)</p> <p><b>Tan corduroy newsboy hat</b>: This is actually a free promo item from Budweiser (my BF used to work in their corporate IT dept). I hate the Budweiser logo on the back but it is small and not terribly noticeable. In this case I actually pinned an antique snake pin over the logo on the back edge of the hat. Sorry I forgot to photograph that --but I often pin vintage pins to my hat and this one actually covered the logo as well.<br /><b>Cashmere scarf</b>: vintage (via Santa Monica flea market)<br /><b>Cream cashmere sweater</b>: Talbots Petite (via ebay)<br /><b>Teracotta jeans</b>: True Religion (via Nordstrom Rack in Seattle)<br /><b>Embossed leather belt</b>: Vintage (via Long Beach flea market a couple of weeks ago for a whopping $5)<br /><b>Sunnies:</b> Anne Klein (via TJ Maxx many years ago)<br /><b>Orange leather sling/hobo bag</b>: Brand label fell out many, many&nbsp;years ago. I think I originally purchased it at TJ Maxx<br /><b>Leather boots</b>: Fiorentini and Baker (via consignment store)<br /><b>Earrings</b>: Victorian era sardonyx and carnelian (via NYC flea market years ago)<br /><b>Snake Ring</b>: Victorian era gold and blister pearl. This actually started life as a stickpin and was converted to a ring at some point over the years (gift from BF)<br /><b>Gold band ring</b>: Antique victorian (via ebay)<br /><b>Gold and citrine bracelet</b>: Antique c.1930s Deco era (via an antiques co-op in Seattle) </p>
