Luckily, the mornings and evenings are still cool, and even 77 doesn't feel terribly hot after a Texan summer.</p> <p>Today I decided to happily defy my environmental norm (women here seem to either wear sweats or body con skinnies &amp; cute top) and wear what I think of as my folktale skirt. I thought it might be interesting to try a more 'fluid fit' on top <a rel="nofollow" href="http://youlookfab.com/2013/04/04/wear-relaxed-banded-tops-over-full-skirts/">like Angie described</a>&nbsp;instead of going for my usual body con/tuck to highlight my waist approach to full skirts. I thought the colour of this sweater worked best, but it doesn't have a banded bottom, so I created a faux one by tucking and then pulling it out a bit.&nbsp;Does this work on me? It's tricky to photograph fluid fit stuff, so I added an extra picture of me in more motion: try to ignore my dorky leg bends (apparently I can't move my torso without one, lol). I can try it again with a truly banded sweater of course, which I have plenty of.</p> <p>Since the skirt and sweater both have a lot going on, I kept accessories to a minimum: just my gold rings. For the cooler morning, I wore my granny boots, but for my afternoon walk I'll switch to my Aurora loafers, which are a similar colour. I think my hair is dark enough to bookend these, but usually I'd have added a similar belt to echo the colour. As I was trying for a more fluid fit, I stayed beltless. Looking at the pictures, I wish I had a wooden brooch or something to add for a little bit of weight: I'm not sure the outfit's weight works with those boots. I also have taupe lace up ankle boots if y'all think that would be better.</p> <p>Anyway, I did get a compliment from a couple of my neighbours, and I feel comfy and cheerful. It's just that whenever I try something YLF inspired, I like to get your opinions even more than usual. As I always say, I have a tough skin, so all feedback is welcome! </p>
