I do have similar taste to yours, it sounds like; I'm a tall inverted triangle and the way this vest flared out at the hip balanced my figure out so perfectly, I always felt confident wearing it. The bold, vertical silver line suits me, too. It took me years to identify that I like a bright metal zipper that stands out as it follows a horizontal line on the collar and then drops vertically on the jacket. Knowing that I like this combination : ‘a horizontal collar outlined by a visible zipper’, it is now a HEWI for me. I also pair it with a long chain as you do. I also look for a knit or soft fabric that allows for curves rather than a stiff fabric.
