I love the second outfit! The dress and open zipper less jacket is right up my alley. I like the proportions here a lot.

All three are great, especially #2! I second the idea of tucking or semitucking #3 with a fun belt.

I loved those jeans when Diana posted them, and I love them on you too! What a great buy. And I really like them with the blue. I'm not much of a pattern mixer -- I tend to wear one patterned item in an outfit with simple pieces so it stands out -- but if it speaks to you, I'd give it a try.

#3 is tomboy perfection, and I especially love #2. Great variety of looks.

Thanks Firecracker! The jeans in #3 are Lucky Brand Dylan BF's, 2 sizes down from my usual. I loved them so much that I duplicated in a lighter wash and only 1 size down, which is slouchier and more casual. I wear both pairs a ton but 2 sizes down is still the most flattering.

I like these outfits a lot! I have a hard time envisioning the print top with the crazy pants (mainly because I can't quite make out the pattern that distinctly on the pants), but I do like pattern-mixing, so I say give it a try! You wear those moto boots so well, and I like how they finish the jeans and plaid shirt outfit. What jeans are those? They look great on you.

@Jenn: I definitely plan on wearing #2 without the topper when I'm outside. I don't mind baring my arms so it still works. I need to replace the dress--it's starting to pill after many washes--but haven't found anything comparable.

@Diana: YES, I want to see Liberty x Liberty! I fell in love with a J.Crew Liberty shirt once (the Floral Eve print) and it's another long-lasting regret. I need to set up an eBay alert for it, since apparently things do fall into my lap after years of searching.

Love #1 and #2 especially! The pants look great, how fun that you were able to finally snap a pair up. Really nice with the cobalt sweater. #2 is a great moody yet girly look; I also love that it pushes your work norm a bit AND has sweet sentimental jewelry. I see what you're saying about #3; if you wanted to do sneakers with that look, I think you could swap the BF jeans out for a cropped skinny pair to add a little femme back to the look. If you ever tuck your shirts, I think that look as it is would be cute tucked and a metallic or other fun belt added.

I like outfit #1 because the top looks so nice you. I definitely think you should try the maximal look with the patterned tippi sweater. It would give a more funky look. I think the simple lines would keep it from being OTT.

Interesting observation about button downs and sneakers being less styled. I could see how that might be.

I love the skinnies and the blue top. The colors are so pretty. #2 seems like a great uniform for the summer. I feel the same way about button downs and jeans - I need something such as shoes or jewelry to make the outfit feel intentional.

All three of these are really nice. Love those printed skinnies; I'd be curious to see them in a pattern-mixing scenario. Bring it on!

Love jewelry with spiritual/emotional significance -- that little necklace is very sweet. And the jacket has just the right amount of volume.

These are all good, and I think the pattern-on-pattern would work too. #2 is FAB. Looks like a perfect summer formula to me. Will it still work without the jacket for outdoors/hotter days?

Sharing a few WIW's from this week!

1) I saw these Paige teal floral skinnies on YLF several years ago, when Diana first posted about them, and always regretted not ordering them. So when I saw my size on eBay for $26, I pounced as fast as I could. They arrived last weekend and I adore the print, although the fit is a bit snug on my calves and front waist (fabric is very "sturdy"-feeling, like my Mother skinnies). I am tempted to wear these jeans with a pink patterned sweater (attached in Finds); is that too crazy? I'm definitely on Team Maximal, maybe too much so.

2) An example of the outfit formula that I plan to live in this summer, minus the leggings: A-line dress + topper + necklace. This narwhal necklace was handmade by a Canadian artist--narwhals are my spirit animal, and I'm a surprise!Canadian living in the USA, so it's perfect for me. I also own a similar delicate silver necklace in the shape of Newfoundland, which is a great conversation-starter.

3) I'm wearing this outfit today and really like it, even though I previously talked about my discomfort in buttondowns with jeans. The key difference here: shoes! I love my new black moto boots, which feel perfectly me and add an intentionality to the outfit. If I swapped out the boots for sneakers, I instantly feel more masculine and less "styled."
