I love your tucking and belting! That is on my list of things to do next. I'm so with you on that shade of white. It's my favorite as well, and I wish there could be a standard name for it, but oh well. At least it's available. I especially like it as a background for prints or patterns on my top half, like your new blouse. Beautiful on you!

Aww, thank you Deborah! What a sweet compliment. You are welcome to take my photo with. If I can find any that have better views of it, I'll send them to you... although to be honest, I think my cut is changing every time. The cut before last was super short - too short to lay down in back - but then after only a tiny trim, it has grown out into something I have enjoyed.

Sarah I missed that post..how funny and honest is Ethan lol! Maybe one of your Christmas gifts could be a tripod? It's a great investment:)

This outfit is stunning, I love the proportions and most of all how comfortable and at ease you look in it. Your hair is looking fab fab fab! I have a hair appt on Friday and I'm thinking I need to take your photo with me, if you don't mind? I have been edging shorter and shorter and still not entirely satisfied I have found MY short cut yet.

Wow. Thank you so much Angie! I have thought of you every time I've worn this top and the shoes (even separately) which has been often. The top, aside from being perfect white, works with absolutely everything - half tucked with jeans, fully tucked or out with pencil skirts and skinny pants - with and without belts. I still haven't found all of the combinations for it and the rest of my wardrobe is starting to feel left out. One of these days I'm going to try it on with everything and force the guys to take photos till they scream.

Woooooohoooo. I have been living to see you wear more white. You look absolutely beautiful in that killer outfit, Sarah. What a slam-dunk.

I LOVE the shoes, and think they should be mine. The length and fit of those pants is very flattering. The ankle strap flat or pump was made for ankle pants. What a happy marriage. That's how to wear ankle pants to my eye. Nicely done. xo

Jackie, I think I may have brain washed my poor husband when it comes to my hair. We have friend who keeps going shorter and blonder every time we see her, and I have pestered him to compare her color with mine (because I can't take my head off my shoulders to compare myself). I may have programmed his brain to hone in on blonde. But in the day to day cut and color of it all, I doubt if he really notices either. :-)

Lisa: you totally should look at these pants. It seems that they work on most body types - slimmer legged girls can size down and those pears like me go up. My true size actually fit like a glove and were so comfy, but I already have tighter black skinnies so they didn't fill a need. But I'm still sorely tempted.

Wow Sarah ! You look great in this outfit. I'm loving seeing something other than big sweaters half tucked into jeans (and not from you, but from life in general). You are absolutely right about the white in that top - it so works with your hair and your skin tone! Love it . Note to self to investigate those pants - I keep reading about them on various blogs.

Aw I'm so impressed with your men! Admittedly my ds's are becoming more and more helpful, fashion-wise. My DH, on the other hand, while being incredibly fashionable in men's wear, doesn't even notice or comment ever when I get my hair cut or coloured. Never.

Thank you! I got the shoes on Amazon and ordered a half size up. I'm very glad that I did, although they are slightly loose and long, but it can't stand this type of shoe too tight. http://www.amazon.com/Isaac-Mi.....38;sr=1-35

I've sorry I have been sort of scarce these days. Sometimes I need to hibernate for a week or so with minimal human interaction (other the necessary home and work). I have been enjoying my wardrobe these days after a few purchases, but have been having photographer issues - DH leaves too early in the morning and I am still a little shell shocked over the boy ratting me out (for those who missed it: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-dog-house)

This morning I was so happy to try a version of Angie's recent waist defining post, so I managed to get it documented. I wore this same top a week or so ago, tucked into a pencil skirt, with a leather obi belt and it was even better as far as natural waist definition, but I really enjoyed today's outfit too. I think that it fits with the spirit of the post - even though it is belted lower, there is a good bit of volume in the top. This new top from Loft is my absolute perfect white. I wish someone would name this color of white so that I could find it again. It is not too yellow, not too blue, not too bright. It is perfect. And I want to wear it all the time. I was also pleasantly surprised by these Old Navy Pixie pants (like yours, Una). I sized up, so the belt is necessary, but it means that I can actually wear a pair of skinny pants, without a tunic... In PUBLIC. This is nothing short of a miracle!! New Isaac Mizrahi shoes and thrifted belt finish it off.

On a completely unrelated note (I have been storing things up on my hibernation to tell you) I was marveling how wonderful it is to be understood. We were in the car one day when Ethan looked at me and said "you know what would look good with that outfit, Mom? Your grey sweater with the long arms and thumb holes." The boy never ceases to amaze me - he pays such attention to detail. Then one day, my husband was at a motorcycle convention and I got a text from him with a photo of a woman's hair and no explanation other than a smiley face (see photo #3). He walked up to a model and asked if he could take her picture to send to his wife because she has short white hair too, and he even made her turn to the side to get the full effect. I really really love that man.
