That's a beautiful sweater and the whole outfit does evoke the inspiration.&nbsp;</p> <p>You could always take the boot to a cobbler to ask an opinion on removing the buckles. Do they feel like "too much" to you? They don't *look* like too much to me, but whenever I have owned boots with more than one buckle detail, I have ended up feeling overwhelmed by that. I mean, I like the look in theory but then when I start wearing them, I just feel...this is too much! Maybe you feel similarly? It feels too heavy to me, somehow, too calling attentioin to itself as "moto" influenced, maybe too RATE? I actually tried a high rise pair recently and reconfirmed that low rise works best for my short, straight torso. Great idea about light blue jewelry. This image has been on my board for yearrrrrs. I love the color palette here, especially for fall: rust, ballet pink, plum. Yum! </p> <p>I've mixed it up a bit because I generally prefer to wear warm colors on the bottom and cool colors near my face (except for bright-orange scarves apparently, lol!). </p> <p>You may remember that I've been wanting to add warm-colored bottoms to my fall wardrobe for a while. I found these lovely rust corduroys recently -- they are a size up from what I'm usually wearing these days but the price was low enough that it seemed worth a shot. They are a bit loose in the legs but I think they work -- I will just enjoy wearing "loose skinnies" but I guess that look is probably a bit more current anyhow.</p> <p>I think the obvious move here would be to add my cognac riding boots as that would create an unbroken leg line but I preferred to mix the neutrals -- I think it's the gamine in me. I note again that these gray boots are looking very tired, or at least I'm very tired of looking at them. But I haven't found a replacement yet so here we are.</p> <p>Thanks again for looking, I really appreciate everyone's engagement with this challenge of mine, it's very motivating to see your comments and I feel that I'm learning a lot! </p>
