Mine wasn't even a heavy knit -- it is actually a light cotton from the GAP a few years ago. But it is quite long and also maybe a bit bulky (really wide, so you have to fold or twist it a lot to make it into a long rectangle) &nbsp;and knotting the ends kept it in place -- like weights in a curtain. What happened to recreating the hair? </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-commes-des-garcon-inspiration-2#post-1184536 Tue, 04 Mar 2014 21:48:30 +0000 rabbit 1184536@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Warmer out today, and the hyacinths in my garden have purple buds, So I wanted to inject some flowers too.</p> <p>1) I started with&nbsp;Commes des Garçon look 6 as inspiration&nbsp;</p> <p>2) First outfit is my initial idea, and then 3)&nbsp;&nbsp;with a cardigan to make the belly area look narrower.</p> <p>5) Modified outfit&nbsp;(because, yeah, belly baring outside, not gonna happen for many reasons). &nbsp;I first tried the top&nbsp;with a semi tuck to get a hi-lo cropped look. &nbsp;This looked pretty bulky from the side and didn't work so well proportionally with the rounded bottom to the skirt to my eye. &nbsp;It might have worked if I'd pulled the skirt down a bit and taken out the pins making the bell shape, but I kind of liked the bell skirt and wanted to keep that part.</p> <p>4) Second to last&nbsp;photo is how I'm wearing it today, skirt pulled a little lower, and knots in skirt pinned under so they hang even and tucked, scarf worn a little like&nbsp;the way I wore dupatta's sometimes in India. &nbsp;Bonus is it stays completely out of the way, and tucked under the cowl roll -&nbsp;stays in place.</p> <p>Oh, I tried putting knots in the ends of&nbsp;scarfs because that was intriguing, but didn't have a scarf that was both bulky and long enough to work this way. &nbsp;Pretty sure with the right scarf though...</p> <p>cotton cowled sweatshirt - Ralph Lauren/Macy's clearance<br />chiffon skirt - converse/target&nbsp;<br />tights - target<br />suede oxfords - Sugar/kohls<br />embroidered and woven &nbsp;scarf - powell's bookstore</p> <p>All feedback and tweaking ideas welcome. &nbsp;Thanks for stopping by! </p> </p> <p>ETA: oops, I forgot to post the semi-tucked top look, added as photo 5.</p>
