AJ, it depends on the skirt. If it has a lining, it's usually fine, and sometimes I'll wear a half slip with the ones that don't. This particular one is double layered (both layers are cotton) so the inner layer stuck a little but the outer one was fine.

Joy, I hadn't thought of pairing the blouse and the floral jacket! That's a really intriguing possibility. I'll have to give it a try, although I worry that the sleeves will be too bunchy.

Angie, thanks for the killer. =) I finally got my hair cut a couple of weekends ago, after putting it off for far too long because of weather and laziness etc. (I actually kind of dislike getting my hair done, because I find it boring and smelly, but I always feel better for having done it.)

KILLER new 'do. I love you with a short bob, Diana.

#5 - #6 = KILLER. My fave. Loving the light neutral touches. YAY for Spring.

But all outfits are fabulous, of course.

You use white and florals well. My favorite is #4. Can the blouse in 1/2 be worn with the jacket in 5/6?

I like the bright whites in the mix. The first floral top and the last sweater are especially good.

Great outfits! Love how your skirts are season versatile with your stylings. Do you have a problem with skirts sticking to your leggings or tights?

These are great! I love the jacket in #5/6. I actually really like the dark cuffs - I feel they tie in well to your dark boots. I feel like your florals and lighter colors do a good job of illustrating Angie's points for spring dressing.

Haven't had time to post outfits from the last couple of weeks, so here are a bunch all at once. We are definitely in the midst of cold spring weather, as per this morning's blog post. My strategy in this weather is mostly to start wearing slightly lighter items, particularly on top, such as blouses and vests rather than heavy pullovers and jackets. The lighter woven fabrics feel much breezier and spring-like to me than heavy woolens! My skirts are coming back into play as well, still with leggings and sometimes boots as it has still been pretty cold here.

1-3: starting with today's outfit as it is the best illustration of my cold spring strategy. Here I've worn a lightweight (but still long-sleeved) printed blouse (with a cami underneath for warmth), a long vest, and a skirt. Leggings, boots, and winter outerwear are still necessary in this weather. Switching back to woven items like this blouse instead of my heavy handknit pullovers means more prints, hooray, and more opportunity for pattern mixing like I'm doing with the blouse and skirt here.

5: outfit from a couple of weeks ago, still pretty cold here and not much spring happening (but the floral pullover is fun).

5-6: trying to inject some spring into a pretty cold day. I'm not 100% convinced I love the dark cuffs of the navy tee that are visible here - I thought it would be fun for contrast but am finding it a little jarring in the photos. I think next time I'd push the tee sleeves up under the jacket.

7-9: a pretty dark & wintry outfit although I did opt for the vest instead of a full on jacket.

10: This is one of my heavy handknit sweaters but paired with a denim skirt and leggings this time to be less wintry.

11: Again, opting for a vest (this one is handknit) instead of a cardigan/jacket.
