Also agree with boot analysis - taller = better with that dress. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-catching-up-casual-christmas-outfits-and-others#post-1123940 Sun, 29 Dec 2013 05:08:00 +0000 Diana 1123940@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>My WIWs have been getting away from me this holiday season, so here are four from the past week all together. &nbsp;The photography is pretty bad in some of these (dark mirror shots, and weird faces); sorry about that!</p> <p>1: Christmas eve. &nbsp;Wore this to a casual dinner and present opening at my in-laws' house. &nbsp;It's really hard to tell with the bad lighting, but I am doing double plaid, red scarf and green pants, here. &nbsp;(Same pants as in the last photo, so just imagine them with the scarf!).<br />handknit sweater, Joe's plaid pants, DV boots, cashmere&nbsp;scarf purchased from my hairdresser, Via Spiga purse</p> <p>2-3: Christmas day. &nbsp;Again, casual stuff with the in-laws. &nbsp;Went to a movie, had home-cooked meals, and played board games. &nbsp;I got red Haflinger kitty slippers &nbsp;for Christmas, so I actually wore those in the house rather than the boots (which were worn to the movie and to go back and forth from our apartment). &nbsp;I finally figured out (after fiddling with it all&nbsp;day, sadly) that the way to keep a layered silk blouse from shifting all over the place and pulling the sweater along with it&nbsp;is to tuck it in. &nbsp;Doh!&nbsp;<br />BR sweater, AT blouse, Wit and Wisdom jeans, Naot boots, Via Spiga purse, ??? necklace</p> <p>4-5: Wore my snake print dress over jeans and boots&nbsp;to go to lab for a few hours and then out for drinks with friends. &nbsp;This is not a super interesting outfit, but I thought it was interesting that I originally started with #4, with the shorter boots, and thought it was stumpifying. &nbsp;I switched to tall boots (#5) and it was so much better! &nbsp;Seems a little counterintuitive because you would think long dress/tunic should go with shorter boots to show more leg, but maybe it's because the jeans are pretty light and high contrast with the rest of the outfit.<br />ON dress, Vince Jeans, Naot boots.</p> <p>6: Worn today (Saturday) for running errands. &nbsp;Lots of textures (flannely pants, coated leather-look panels on the cardi, weird metallic stretchy material on the boots) and patterns. &nbsp;The necklace is a random long one I rediscovered in my jewelry box; it was a bit long so I tied it into a lariat, which I thought was fun. &nbsp;<br />Style and Co coated-front cardi, F21 tee, Joe's plaid pants, Naot boots, ??? necklace.</p> </p>
