Back when I was at the big (but not mega) church, we had the same situation with a very conservative older core, but lots of young families too. I enjoyed being on the worship team because I was in between age-wise, and I could see both sides. It was fun picking music that would appeal to both segments and challenging them both to stretch. I love how your style is sending an authentic message about who you are. In my work life I have been working with volunteers for over 18 years and the percentage of younger vols is very small, and the way younger people want to volunteer is different too. Hope you keep feeling better! </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-casual-ffbo#post-1099293 Wed, 27 Nov 2013 06:39:24 +0000 Deborah 1099293@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>Hi Fabbers,</p> <p>I am so grateful for my FFBO's. &nbsp;I had a few days of not feeling great last week and over the weekend, but I had an AGM to attend on Saturday morning for our local community radio station (I am a board member), so I had to get up AND get dressed :)</p> <p>Our station is a Christian/Community station and we are regional. &nbsp;It was established many years ago and over the past three years our new board has worked hard to make it much more contemporary and modern which does sometimes feel like a loosing battle &nbsp;Our membership at this point are a predominately older and are a&nbsp;very conservative group of people, so even though I didn't give my outfit a huge amount of thought, I did purposely dress a little "not conservative" as I like to challenge (gently)&nbsp;stereotypes in this group - the point being that we can reach out to a broader listener base.</p> <p>So I wore my older, more worn skinny black jeans, a slightly oversized black top, black booties and my cream and black skull scarf (thinking of Hil).</p> <p>I know this is nothing special, but I loved this. &nbsp;I wore it all day and felt great, despite not actually feeling great lol.</p> <p>And I'm feeling good now &nbsp;Seems I may have pulled or strained a muscle that then caused a great deal of pain in my chest/breast area. &nbsp;Doc checked it out and things are almost back to normal. &nbsp;I have however booked in for my very first mamogram/breast screen!!</p> <p>Now I'm off to see if I can work out how to style one of my kimono jackets for the office:)</p> <p>Your thoughts, suggestions etc always much appreciated and thanks for taking the time to look and read.</p> <p>xxx Deborah </p>
