As in, "dapper menswear." Not sure why.</p> <p>Yesterday I decided to blend very casual with those more dapper menswear elements in a lighter color palette. I think it definitely qualifies as a style juxtaposition of being both seasonally confused as well as opposing styles --but I was happy with the way it turned out.</p> <p>I originally tried the ensemble with a cream sweater and burnt orange BR trousers but just wasn't "feeling it." It didn't look bad, I just wanted a bit more casual in the mix.</p> <p>So I switched out to this wonderful loose weave Theory sweater in a shade of terra-cotta that I love (and that happened to match the hat band on the vintage fedora) and some faded AG boyfriend jeans paired with pale tricolor oxfords in white/beige/pale taupe-gray and my white leather moto.&nbsp;</p> <p>The fringe scarf is one of four Burberry cashmere fringe scarves I have and I love them all. I have this same scarf in pink/brown/cream, black/white, this heathered cream color with multicolor stripes as well as the traditional Nova Check pattern. They are so much fun to wear and I like that the fringe puts an edgier twist on what is usually considered more classic/prep plaid (plus they are just the right length, weight and softness to keep the back of my neck from getting cold, which happens a lot).</p> <p>The pale colored vintage fedora is a recent acquisition from last month's Long Beach flea market. It fits my small head well and has a larger brim than most of the fedoras I usually wear, but it was in exceptional condition and I loved the lighter color of it.</p> <p>So there's my interpretation of a "casual dapper" outfit for a chilly,&nbsp;blustery day in SoCal.
