Thanks, all!
Shevia, yes, you get what I mean. These shorts are oldies but goodies and I'm not giving them up yet.
LisaP, you made more sense than you might have thought. I feel as if there is some feeling of being true to myself even as I try new trends.

To give credit where it's due, I think I was influenced by this conversation started by celia, too.

Thanks Caro. Procrastination loves company!

Waving back, K. I love my Seibel sneakers. I have the green-gray, rather than the metallic ones that are pictured. (I'm never sure whether I should duplicate a find that already exists, just to add another color.)

Oh I know just what you mean. Sometimes I thrift things that seem they are today (wide leg pants) but really belong to yesterday. But I love those shorts and would absolutely still be wearing them. A toast to procrastination!

That didn't make any sense. Ignore it. I am hot, tired and need a glass of wine:) I know what i mean, I just can't quite get the words out . I wish there was a delete button option.

Very cute outfit - and I am so jealous (and happy for you ) of new sewing room furniture! I keep seeing these shoes on you, and thinking about what a useful item they are - something I think I will invest in next year (metallic Euro sneakers).

To answer your question: yes, I am OFTEN confused. And I tell myself that if certain pieces cycle in and out so quickly that I just need to avoid that particular look - as either I wore it in it's first incarnation (and thus should not wear it again) or I am too unprepared to deal with it. Another good reason to find what you like, and stick with it. Firmly.

I was going to wear my old, old formula of shorts, tee, and cardigan today. And just for good measure, I was going to wear some comfort sandals that are several years old, too. A throwback to my pre-YLF dressing.

Well, it's not as if my pre-YLF self was much different than my current self. But I did decide to wear a new cardi and current shoes to update the shorts look. The cardigan is a birthday present I bought myself with gift money from my parents. Pre-YLF I would have worn a Land's End or Eddie Bauer or J.Jill smooth-knit classic cardigan, in a soft color. Not much different from now, but I do try to add current cuts and silhouettes, as much as I can.

I have to clean out my sewing room, to prepare for delivery of new sewing
furniture this week! I have been procrastinating all day.

The outfit (worn for a day off, and the important work of procrastination):
Dark brown shorts (Eddie Bauer); not seen--cream tee with neutral petal-design applique on front (Eddie Bauer); taupe and cream chunky handknit cardi with taupe and cream buttons (Amy Brill), gray leather sneakers (Josef Seibel, Caspian); taupe-gray shoulder bag (Aunts & Uncles); concentric-ring earrings in brass and silver (Marjorie Baer); purple-framed specs.

Sometimes I hang on to things for so long that they seem to come back in style. I get confused as to what's in and what's out. How about you?

Thoughts and suggestions welcome!
