I think if you semi-tucked (or faux-tucked) the sweater over a belt, you'd add a little pizzazz to the outfit and make it feel more current. And if you felt good wearing it, I imagine the camera angle is giving a different look than what you saw and felt. It's hard to tell, since the photos aren't straight-on, but are you kind of "cut in half" by the top and the jeans? If so, you'll want to try to make the lengths of those two pieces less equal.
