Hi I actually really like the large oversized jacket look best on you, I feel that it makes you legs look so long and skinny, your neck look really long and your facial bone structure amazing. I suppose the masculine lines make all your delicate feminine bones stand out, in a really flattering way. That's my thoughts, if I had your legs and neck/facial bone structure I would wear this look all the time!

Have I already said how much I love it here? You ladies are FABULOUS (eek, pun not intentional). Not only are you all so encouraging and inspirational, but Angie, this site, and you ladies are totally changing the way I look at fashion. I was at Costco waiting for a prescription and tried on a coat - and you all were the first thing I thought of :). (I may post pics later.)

Thank you to all who have complimented my curves, that is very encouraging (and Rae, I DO have lumps and bumps, I promise!). I can honestly say I've spent most of my life embarrassed about my curves and without a clue about what to do with them, so thank you all for your help as I learn.

I wasn't thrilled about that sweater in #2 styled that way either. I ended up wearing it with skinnies. I *want* to like it because it's as cozy as jammies with the leggings, but so far I don't. I'm considering it with leggings, boots, and a belt, will keep you posted.

The barn jacket is a very soft suede, so wouldn't be a great rainy weather jacket unless I got it treated. I'll get a photo of it buttoned so we can be sure it's not fabulous, Angie - unless I cut the arms off and tailor it, then I'll be sure to post pictures to see if it IS fabulous ;). I may be able to get enough suede from tailoring to make a tie-belt...

Those ankle boots seem like a not-super-great fit for my life. They have a square toe that I don't love, and I can't wear bootcuts most of the winter because they wick up the rain in Seattle. I think that's why I bought them years ago (for bootcuts), but have never really *felt* them. I have one more styling idea for them before I give up...

Thanks again ladies - ooh, and I get an iPhone today, so I'll be able to post pics like a madwoman!

I am loving the white sweater on you, loveit belted with both boots look great to my eye, agree with dianthus and clearlyclaire, ankle boots would look good with a bootcut jean! Sweater belted with red flats looks good on you! good job!

Hi Shu!
I'm not crazy about the sweater in #2 as is, but perhaps styled with a belt and jacket might make all the difference.
LOVE the white jacket in every outfit you posted.
Not sure about the oversized coat. Might be cute though to style with a bit of a rugged vibe on a cold and rainy day.
The belted outfit in 11 is perfect!

Omigosh, 3-5 are superduperfab! You have amazing curves (no lumps, bumps, or pooch... just smooth curves... happy sigh), and I love how you highlight them in these pix. I think both boots look great! I also like the coat in 10 - worn open to show your delicate neck and with skinnies to balance the volume.

Love the white sweater jacket! It looks amazing belted.

I'm not sure that the barn jacket is fabulous - perhaps you can take a photo with it closed so that we can make sure?

Thanks for sharing! Among photos 3 through 6, I love 4 the best. The lighter-neutral boots on the outside of the jeans really anchor the look, and the belt around the sweater adds nice definition. The belt in #11 looks great! And I do love the coat. As for the ankle boots, they look better to me in #8, without the jeans scrunched. Enjoy!

So cute! Good ideas, all of them. I like the white sweater with the big collar, and I even like it with the belt. I don't think it looks passe at all. The short black boots might do better with an actual boot cut jean, but I like the tall boots (just don't wear the ones that are too tight--ouch!) The big coat does look like it was made for someone else, but I like where it hits you on the thigh. Do you have any other coats that length? Love the red shoes with the red flower! I think it's okay to wear them without it, though.

The first thing I noticed is that you are very pretty. I'm not sure I'm loving the grey sweater but the white one is great on you. I prefer it open but think it looks really good in all of the pics. I don't think the boots in 5 look too skinny for jeans. I think they look pretty darn good with jeans. I think the ankle boots are good but would probably wear them with a bootcut jean that was a bit longer. That may be me though.

Nice pics. THanks for sharing.

Great set of photos. That is lots of work to take so many versions, isn't it? I usually wear out before my ideas do.

Comments - I like: #3 VERY much. The belted sweater and the lighter boots look great, put together.
#6 with these thinner boots, leaving the sweater open gives more volume on top. So leaving off the belt with these narrow boots looks more balanced to my eye.
#9-10, eh, coat is okay. Would you wear it buttoned up? If so, can you share another photo? As it is opened, looks kind of shapeless as you say.

Since you have the other similarly colored neutral boots, I'd pass on the suede ones.
Boots in #8 - good boots, but wrong jeans? Do you have boot cuts? Or much longer skinnies so there is a good generous scrunch?

#11 - I like this look and don't really know if it's passe. The red shoes and flower are cute!

Ooops, I think I asked more questions than I answered.

Shu, I LOVE your white sweater (especially open as a cardi), and the belted grey sweater with red flats in pic 11! The brown coat with skinnies tucked into boots looks like a great casual outfit. I'm not crazy about the sweater in #2...perhaps it needs to be styled differently. Belted perhaps? Overall, some nice modern classic casual looks!

Hi all,

1) A decent portrayal of my shape. My shoulders are back trying to get my arms out of the way, but they are normally straight up from my hips. I like this silhouette, but would like to achieve it in more interesting ways - plus, I don't generally wear tight tops and bottoms.

2) a. Impressions of this sweater? b. With leggings?

3) I tried belting this sweater.

4) I've had these boots for years and outgrew them during pregnancies (feet flattened out/got bigger), so it's been a while since I bought them and I'm not sure if they're out of date. Thoughts?

5) Are these boots too skinny for jeans?

6) Sweater unbelted - the way I usually wear it. Preference?

7) Black ankle boots that I bought years ago. Are they frumptastic? I tried a little scrunch thing at the ankle...

8) ...and unscrunched.

9) My Grandma's oversized coat that I mentioned on Angie's Oversize Coat post. Too shapeless? The sleeves feel too short. I'm kind of tempted to make a long vest out of it and nip in the waist to make it more streamlined - thoughts? These boots are (were) also Grandma's and I think they're pretty but too small (my toes are pushing into the ends). Can suede stretch in length?

10) The coat is a little more closed here so you can see the shape (or lack of) - sorry, my camera ate the one where it actually was closed.

11) Is belting like this passe or otherwise inadvisable?

12) Can I get credit for bookending my shoes with a flower in my hair? ;)

I hope that's not too many questions!
