For years I've bought 100% wool sweaters at thrift shops for an aunt who "felts" them herself and makes items to sell from the felt. She sent my DGS a baby play pad made from felted sweaters and I have Christmas stockings to hang on the fireplace that she made. I think boiled wool is easier to sew than fleece. <br />I used lapped seams; I got the technique from a tutorial by Linda Lee at The Sewing Workshop (online).<br />Joy, I'm not entirely sure what the difference is, but my understanding is that wool felt is not woven or knitted. Boiled wool is knitted and then washed and agitated to "fell" it into a dense fabric that still has some give. <br />Janet, I had a boiled wool jacket many years ago, too. I think they were popular in the 80s, maybe.
