I find it fascinating how much of the social programming we receive (especially as women) can be detrimental to us in the long run - Lisa discusses things like the health implications of ignoring our inner gut feelings and wants in favour of being 'easygoing' (to be well liked), interspersed with her personal experiences. We found it tremendously thought-provoking and engaging. I'm not sure I agree with all of her arguments, but her personal story is moving, and the movie was very, very good. Afterwards I read a lot about the Dalits and the Indian attorney who worked so long and so hard on their behalf in Indian government.</p> <p>Thanks for the book recommendations, y'all! And I love that combination with green! But I struggle with these Boden pants. I bought them for the color, and they're very comfortable. But they definitely have an office feel, and that is not my thing anymore. However, I think my new white shoes and my new denim jacket (Talbots via eBay) help alter the vibe. The top is a navy and white floral, which of course you cannot see. It is cool enough for a jacket today, so I walked to the library.</p> <p>So excited to finally have the new Jasper Fforde! I am sure there is a way to flip the image so you can read the title, Red Side Story, but I couldn't figure it out on my phone. Are you reading anything great that you want to tell me about? </p>
