Your pup is adorable!

And you picked a fab outfit to copy, too.

With the socks....I hear you. This is one reason why I barely own any actual *shoes.* I live in Canada and it gets cold here and a nude stocking just will not do.....so my answer in these situations is booties. It is the only way.

Ah - Thanks! *rolling hem*. If I'd looked more closely at her pic, I would have done it that way the first time.

It feels really thick rolled twice. I suppose it's supposed to feel that way, and it looks good on her jeans, so it probably doesn't look hugely thick on mine. If I can get a kid to take a pic, I'll do it

I like the second one better too. This is a great look for you.

I just wear high vamp shoes myself, or boots, when I need the warmth. Those black shoes you wore the other day would have worked nicely here too, I think.

Can I suggest rolling the hem twice, to make a narrower cuff? Not to make them go up higher, you understand, but to give a more refined line at the ankle. The way your inspiration rolled them, but at the height that you wore them.

Thanks! I'd forgotten about nude socks probably working. But I ended up really liking the shoes I wore, and probably would have worn them regardless.

Yes, over the course of the day, a half-tuck over the belt is actually what's evolved I hadn't even thought of the possibility of oxfords - those would have worked here too, I bet.

And our new puppy is adorable, isn't he? He's growing SO fast. I'm glad that he works his way into these pics every few days - I'll have a log of how quickly he's growing.

You did a great job copying the inspiration picture but I like what you actually wore even better. The pup is adorable.
As for suggestions, I wear one or two pair of nude or nude micro fishnet knee highs or stockings with shoes where any foot or ankle show and warmth is required. But more often boots or booties or oxfords get worn instead with socks.

I agree the sock look is not best. In this situation I would layer a couple of pairs of stocking socks in nude. Or if really cold I would just substitute a bootie. This is a cute interpretation. And your shoes in #2 are gorgeous:)

I'm with JenA in loving the cute dog at your feet! And I like your updated saddle shoes in #2--they're cute & they look comfy.

I think this is a good interpretation. You look great in the burgundy and the blazer is FAB.

I prefer the second picture, because I personally like the combo of the flat shoes & pant cuff. I also prefer the low contrast of the red and taupe. How does the shirt look with a semi-tuck or untucked without a belt?

My thoughts on the shoes in first picture .... I have a bit of a poison eye for squared-toed loafers and I agree with Rae about nude trouser socks. Perhaps unrolling the cuff, or making it a smaller roll might work better.

BTW, I love the cute black fuzzy accessory near your feet!

Wow you look great in a blazer! Yah the socks aren't so great, why not try those nude stocking socks? They would at least keep the breeze off your skin, and look better. I think you did an awesome job hitting the inspiration!

Worn for running errands this morning.

The first pic is, I think, truer to the inspiration, but the second pic is what I actually wore - I liked the flats better for running around, and I added a belt.

I felt like socks with the cute heels (sorry they don't show very well - they're sorta-casual black wedges) looked silly, but it's too cold to go without socks (like in the inspiration photo). What do you do in that type of situation?

As always, suggestions are invited and welcomed!
