Kind of between elbow and wrist, as the fluted/ruffly part starts at the elbow. So they don't flop in my coffee. Actually the top's sleeves flop back on themselves when I rest my elbows on a table and look like... I dunno.. flowers? It's kind of cool!</p> <p>But I totally get what you mean as I've tried on a zillion such tops (I'm exaggerating) and developed a hatred for these sort of sleeves. Until I found these two pieces -- I think it's the fit/scale is right.</p> <p>That said I don't think the pics do this outfit any justice as I was standing really close to the mirror and there is the warped factor. My goodness, my hand looks HUGE. The top IRL looks and fits very similar to the Macy's image. I have one top with subdued, shorter bell sleeves and I quite like it, so I'm not sure why I am so resistant. It's super comfortable for early Fall (cotton). I had to size up to a MP but I like the looser look (and it can close just fine, carving out a waist when I want one). They did not have it in any other colors at my local Macy's, just black. In the store's dressing room, I actually thought it was a dark navy. It wasn't until I saw it on the site I realized it was black. But it can read either way, I think.</p> <p>I posted a WiW because of Thistle's question regarding how to wear blazers to work. Pairing the black blazer with black jeans is an example of my "suit" look for professional occasions that are customer-facing, etc. I wore this same combo to give a presentation recently, but with a scoop neck white shell and leopard print mules.&nbsp;</p> <p>The top comes in different patterns. As soon as I saw the miracle way it concealed my tummy, I was debating in the dressing room between this houndstooth and the black floral. Florals are less my look I guess. I also like that this adds to my (very small) olive capsule.&nbsp;</p> <p>Angie, awhile back you were encouraging me to seek out bubble hem tops when they were last in style, but I had no luck because they all hit me too long, ending at low hip and making me look pregnant or just oddly proportioned. But this top and the jacket seemed to work okay so they are my nod to the trend. And as far as the top is concerned, my final determination when buying it was the fact I could easily have a tailor remove the ruffles and make it elbow sleeve length once the trend has passed.&nbsp;</p> <p>I can also wear the top with olive jeans, but those were in the wash today. Or with jeans.</p> <p><b>Lisa </b>-- I got my hair cut today! Shorter again. I have worn my hair longer for about the last two years, and it's been driving me nuts. The carpet was our interior designer's "design moment."
