I'm in, so now  am posting my office looks from the first 3 weeks of October, mind you? As a leader of a small  EU company(20 employeés) in a somehow creative industry I have my own office and so,  I can set my own  dress code. I know this is not business casual per se, as Angie would say (I have those few looks too) but always tried to change them  in some more creative looks where possible. I try to do this  in the most  decent and smartest possible way of that very "smart casual which can be sill done in an  office"  if you know what i mean:-). Since my business office moved offsite last year, I'm able to do more business casual on days I'm not at the hospital. The jacket is fab. Second, I have to laugh at the "dress code". I worked at a place where casual Friday meant no blue jeans. Other colors of jeans, such as black, were okay, but only on Friday. And I think the ponte pants in #3 read less casual in person, or maybe Ive just fooled myself into believing that Tanya, lady, & El Cee, thank you. And I'm suprised at the believe that there's great variety here, as I tend to see most of this as lather, rinse, repeat...ie same general pant, just change up the shoes and throw on a top.. Here's what a random week in Oct looked like for me. Do you have a do a written dress code? Is it enforced? #1 rule No sneakers. Ever. Even on the rare occasions we can wear jeans... This rule lives. We have a formal written dress code. Business casual, expect if you are meeting with outside vendors, then business dress is required. Jeans and sneakers are unacceptable, as are shorts and capris, and tee shirts. Men are require to wear shirts with collars. Business dress is defined as a tie for men, and appropriate apparel, such as dress pants, skirts and dresses, for women (yes, that's what it really says, appropriate apparel and then lists those 3 things) 2. What's the informal dress code? So, as you can see, the formal dress code is a bit of a mess, and was clearly written by a man. Informally, it means khaki & golf shirts for the guys. Except for days when they have a meeting with vendors, then it's khakis & dress shirt with the ties they keep at their desks going on just before the meeting. For the women... It's come to mean almost anything, just as long as they don't really look like denim, and no shorts. And no sneakers. 3. What's the makeup of your workplace/ team (average age, mostly women/men etc). My work team, (approx 40 people) is about 60% male at the moment...with the average age somewhere around 33. I am the oldest women on my team, by at least 10 years 4. And on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being casual and 10 being business, where would you place each day. Pictures are in order by day Monday--8 Tuesday --9 Wednesday --5 Thursday--6 Friday--5 (during the fall/winter we have "flannel Friday's") As always, any and all feedback welcome.
