I think that with my love of BRIGHT color and crazy prints, the bleakness of the fashion that was around me in the 90s was just that.. bleak. You know me, I'm pretty ummm energetic? upbeat? giggly? I wore plenty of 90s things in the 90s: flannels, combat boots, work shirts, etc. It's just that those flannels were neon, the combat boots patent with lime laces, the work shirts bright red 7-11 shirts.... I wore a lot of camo, plaid pants, and blazers back then, too. I'm curious to see what resurgent 90s trends appeal to me this time around! When my hair was longer, I also used to pull it back most of the days I wore light footwear to minimize the darkness around my face.
