Sounds like a good idea to fix the neckline of the dress so that it's not fussy anymore. </p> https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-backlog-boston-and-california#post-1398630 Tue, 18 Nov 2014 01:48:07 +0000 Diana 1398630@https://youlookfab.com/welookfab/ <p>I'm back from California!&nbsp; (Just in time for a nasty, cold rainstorm.&nbsp; Yuck.)&nbsp; Had a lovely time, and I even got to meet up with Adelfa and her DD when I landed. &nbsp; =) (We forgot to get a picture though!)&nbsp; Anyway, here are my backlogged WIWs, mostly from the trip, although the first one is from Boston right before I left.&nbsp; </p> <p>1-2: worn in Boston the Saturday before I left for CA.&nbsp; Another look with the YLF lemming sweater, with moto skinnies this time.&nbsp; I wore this to run some errands and hang out around town.&nbsp; Later on I switched the moto skinnies for my dark blue brocade skinnies to go to a casual dinner party, since I felt like the brocade was a just a little dressier.&nbsp; Didn't get a picture of the dinner outfit though.&nbsp; <br />(Halogen sweater, Vince jeans, Sam Edelman boots, Longchamp bag)</p> <p>3-4:&nbsp; These photos were taken at a park/botanical garden in my parents' town.&nbsp; As you can see, the weather in Southern CA was gorgeous, especially the second half of the week, which is when all the WIWs here are from.&nbsp; I actually wore this same top and skirt, with a lace sweater and the boots in #9, earlier in the week when it was a bit cooler (no photo though).<br />(Allsaints tee, Ann Taylor skirt, Born gladiators)</p> <p>5-7: Another skirt and bare legs outfit.&nbsp; I'm glad I got another chance to wear this handknit lace batwing top in CA, since it's too cold in Boston for it now.&nbsp; I think the sweater actually works a bit better with pants (it's borderline too long for skirts, even though I've pushed it up quite a bit here) but it was too nice out not to take advantage of bare legs weather!&nbsp; I wore this to go to the city to see the Hello Kitty exhibit at the Japanese American museum (which was awesome by the way!).<br /><a href="http://www.janm.org/exhibits/hellokitty/" rel="nofollow">http://www.janm.org/exhibits/hellokitty/</a><br />(handknit sweater, Eileen fisher skirt, Born oxfords, MZ wallace bag)<br />#8 is Lady Gaga's Hello Kitty plush dress from the exhibit.</p> <p>#9-10: Two versions of my party outfit.&nbsp; (My parents had a party with some friends and relatives to celebrate several birthdays (including both of theirs)).&nbsp; I started out with the boots in #9, but decided it was too warm and switched them for the gladiators.&nbsp; I think I am going to alter this dress, by sewing up the keyhole a bit so I can wear it with the neckline ties loose.&nbsp; The cinched neckline is fiddly and I think it accentuates the roundness of my shoulders too much, but right now the neckline is too wide and low to wear untied.&nbsp; <br />(Anthro dress, Matiko boots, Born gladiators).</p>
