The opening outfit is just too, too cool for school! The first rendition is more grunge. The last two are more polished. I like the way these pants look with the oxfords best, I am surprising myself because I usually like everything RATE.</p> <p>I would definitely shorten them. I like minimal scrunching on straight leg jeans, but that's just me. I can tolerate more scrunching on super super skinny legs. But the straight leg style, when scrunched, creates fairly aggressive folds which to me interrupt the long lean line.</p> <p>Anyway, I love all of these pieces but especially the Helmut tee. If they aren't too tight at the hem that should work, I always do it to see how the pants will look at the length I folded them. I'd probably try to see where PPL is (like with bootcuts) and then you can go longer until you have enough scrunch. That was a shock to the system to say the least. I had a fantastic trip, too much shopping and saw a multitude of beautiful pieces at the furniture show. It was lovely to walk around without a jacket, and in shoes with no socks.</p> <p>Waiting in my mailbox for me when I arrived home was this this pair of corduroy pants. I rarely obsess over an article of clothing, but these Isabel Marant pants have been on my mind for several months. I tried to find them both in New York and Vancouver last year but my size was always out of stock. After months of searching, I finally procured a pair on Ebay, and I was inclined to wear them the same day.</p> <p>I paired them with a Helmut asymmetrical t-shirt I picked up in LV, a Maje leather jacket and Fiorentini and Baker boots. In retrospect, I don't really love how they looked with the boots, I much prefer them with the short boots in the next picture. But I needed to tuck, it was super cold.</p> <p>I would love your advice on hemming. There is quite a bit of scrunch, these pants are surprisingly long which is a refreshing change. I tried them with the Isabel Marant boots with a 2" heel and some flat J Crew oxfords. They are a straight leg, I'm inclined to hem them a bit. My question is how much do I hem, how much scrunch should I leave? I probably would not wear them with tall heels, at the most 3.5". Would love your thoughts on this and well as the outfit. Missed everyone at YLF and your fabulous outfit inspiration while I was away! </p>
