Today I’m wearing a decidedly athleisure type of ensemble but am adding my rarely-worn but still-loved Burberry trench coat. I bought it when I was a good solid size smaller than I am now, but it’s still wearable as long as I don’t put bulky layers under it. I’ll never let it go because I adore the color! </p> <p>The proportions are probably slightly less than perfect to my eye — full-length pants would do a better job with this length of coat and wouldn’t chop me in half so much, but I’ll probably wear it open anyway as it is not very cool today. </p> <p>To me, the combination works because the outfit is not too sporty — it doesn’t look like I’m going for a run — and the coat isn’t so dressy that I look mismatched. I like tempered juxtaposition! </p> <p>Tee: ancient Ralph Lauren side-stripe tee — I think this actually pre-dates YLF by a couple of years, and somehow has stayed in fantastic condition.
