Chicago house music was an offshoot of disco music fro the 70's. The rave was an off shoot of the Chicago house music. A lot of Chicago artist went over seas where the music had become pouplar. EUROPEAN COUNTRIES really adopted the house music during the mid 1980s offshoots of house started to develop from deep house came acid house from acid house came the rave. Drugs did not become pouplar until the switch from acid house to rave. Think of it like this remember when rap music was fun? Mc hammer, fresh prince, then it went all east coast west coast and rapping about bad stuff. That just the evolution of house my parents took me and my sister to our first house music party when I was 6. No bad stuff no drugs just good music. We're a culture know as house heads and we're family oriented. Music has evolved but we tend to stay with the pure original music. House music in its original form is fun and family appropriate.
