Diana- I am in awe of your knitting skills. What a wonderful job.I love your lacey ones as that is not a strong suit of mine. That's interesting about your allergy to alpaca- one of the ladies in my knitting group is also and I can only use acrylic &/or cotton on anything I knit or crochet for my DD (sad because there are so many great yarns) I think I keep WEBS online in business (most stores have closed around me)
Well, at least you have yarn available to extend it and dont have to worry about purchasing more, but it is a pain when you discover your done project is not done.....I have enough UFOs-lol

Thanks!

Aida, thanks for the sweater alteration suggestions! Asymmetric hem might be a fun idea. And I’m glad to hear you’re still wearing the silky joggers!

Efbgen, yes when I say hand knit I always mean by me. I have very few storebought sweaters these days (mostly just the thin, plain merino ones). I use most kinds of natural fibers (cashmere, wool, silk, linen, occasionally cotton, and blends) but I’m actually slightly allergic to alpaca so I tend to avoid it.
I have worn the sweater over white and while it does mitigate the busy-ness of the pattern, the length is still an issue.

Shevia, the shorts are my aaaancient silky knickerbockers from French connection. I’m deathly afraid they (and their taupe twins) are going to fall apart soon, because I’ve never seen anything else like them. I think The key is that they’re slouchy and slightly harem-y but a silky *woven* material with a flat, trouser style waistband (ie not elastic or gathered like most harem pants).

I can see the transition of trying to leave the cool “April showers “ weather behind and move toward “ May flowers”.
Did you by any chance make ALL those gorgeous “ hand knit” items. If yes, you have a wonderful talent ( mediocre knit, decent crochet person here) they are all great pieces- what fiber ( love alpaca)? On the last sweater before you add to it I would love to see what it looked like layered over a solid but soft blouse in White or a color. I think it would showcase or feature the stitch pattern. I think now the print competes with the sweater pattern. Once you see it with a solid under then you will know if you need to add yarn. I bet solid tank would be great with it too- that would let bare arms feature lace of your art work.

Hah love seeing where "spring" hits ^^ As always you've got such a great mix of texture and silhouette (and loads of pretty blues). I would so buy the dress in #2!! Still into soft/silky printed jogger type pants (wearing a pair today) so I have no issue with #5 And totally adore 6/7. I like the idea of adding a bit to the last sweater if it's been tough to style. What about something asymmetrical? Longer on one side than the other, or maybe sorta sharkbite with longer sides?

Loads of outfits from the last few weeks - sorry for the photo overload but this is the only way I'll get these posted. =P

You can see pretty clearly here where it starts becoming (finally!) spring.

1: Still really wintry in mid-April - wool coat and scarf, flannel tunic, skinnies, and boots.
2: hand knit sweater dress, leggings, booties
3: hand knit sweater layered over a plaid shirt. Still wearing tall boots.
4: a casual weekend outfit - still cold but at least the wool coats are put away.
5: a warmer day, finally. I think these printed silky joggers are probably a little bit out of style but I still like to wear them once in a while.
6-7: hand knit tunic/dress over printed crops with oxfords.
8-10: hand knit lace sweater, ancient skirt, teal combat boots
11-12: ha, this random fitting room had much better light than my mirror at home! crop flares, striped tee, long vest, and booties, with leather jacket on top.
13-14: another take on teal and blush. This blouse (which I purchased last year) is one of the things that put the color combo on my radar.
15-16: a new blouse I bought at H&M recently. Link in finds. (I've had good shopping luck lately - should post about my new spring items.)
17-18: hand knit lace sweater layered over a printed top with crop flares and pointy booties. To be honest, I'm not wild about this one - this sweater has always been hard to style due to its busy lace pattern, wide neckline, and weird length. I am considering altering it to be a little longer - I still have lots of this yarn left so could easily add some sort of border at the bottom.
