I like all of these outfits, but my favorites are the two dresses, #4 and #5. I do love a dress with a denim jacket!

I do a lot of the "one more wear" thing with my beloved winter skirts before putting them away for spring. And those Loft cardi's are so nice, aren't they? I added a nice lightweight one for spring to my collection this year.

They are all so fab! My faves are 1,4,and 5! The peplum in nr 1 is so different-love the H&M jacket, too, and I always love to top my dresses (yours are both really great, too) with some denim jackets! You did a good job with the new clothes!

dakotacheryl - Thanks!

Dee - I'm trying to decide whether they merit an alteration. If it was just a hem, I could do it myself, but getting them taken in at the waist is more work. Plus, I seem to be losing weight again, so I might be chasing a moving target.

rachylou - Sometimes my pants become too long on me when I lose weight, because they end up sitting lower on my hips. I think this is part of the problem here. The waist on the dress is a bit high (you can see it around the second-from-bottom buttonhole of the jacket), which may be another reason it feels short. I am pretty sure it shrunk an inch the first time I washed it. I wore the same jacket today with a somewhat longer dress, and felt a lot less self-conscious in it.

columbine - I tried that, though in a hurry since I was trying to get out the door to work. I think they look better cuffed, but that didn't seem to fix all the issues. Which makes me think it might be an overall sizing issue.

Have you tried cuffing the trousers in your first outfit, to see what you thought of those proportions? They do look slightly too loose and long to me. Otherwise your outfits are smashing! I especially like the dress in pic 4 on you.

My faves are #2 and 3. You look very smart: I like the lines, the fits, where the hems fall. The H&M blazer is quite nice too. I'm thinking the tuxedo ankle pants are a little long and am wondering where the waist is on the dress that feels short when you wear it. I've recently realised myself that all my ankle pants are too long on me. Don't know what happened there. If something changed.

I can't comment on the denim jackets. I have *issues* with denim. Lol.

Your outfits look great. My favorites are the two with the denim jackets. Love the proportions and prints. The blazers look like they fit quite well so hopefully they'll work for you for awhile. The trousers in #1 look a little loose to me but maybe a quick alteration can fix it?

One of my big aha moments this year was realizing I needed more toppers. In recent years, I've relied a lot on cardigans as my layering piece, but I reached the point where I really didn't want to wear them so often. I found myself wanting more structure. You can see new toppers in most of these outfits.

#1 - H&M blazer, J Crew flutter tee, LE tuxedo trousers, Sole Society shoes. The weather was nice enough to break out these suede shoes. I'm not entirely happy with the fit of the trousers here: I was between sizes and sized up, and these now feel too loose at the waist. They are perhaps an inch too long. I do like using this red necklace to bookend red shoes. I don't love the fit of this blazer, but I think it will work as a stopgap for now until my budget lets me find a better one.

#2 - BR Factory blazer, Loft black shell, Gap trousers, SE Pettys. I tried tucking this shell, but decided I liked the long line of it untucked. I also really liked wearing a longer necklace with this outfit. It made me think I should buy another necklace at this length. The blazer is a great spring/summer weight and color.

#3 - Loft cardi, Loft sweater tee, J Crew pencil skirt. This pencil skirt is wool and more of a cold weather item, and I wanted to get another wear in before it is too warm for it. I liked the stripes a lot with this skirt.

#4 - ON denim jacket, Loft dress. I always feel like this dress is too short when I have it on, but it looks fine here. Go figure. I think I rolled the sleeves on the jacket later in the day. I like that this jacket comes in petite; it works nicely over dresses.

#5 - ON white denim jacket, Target dress. I like the dark floral of this dress, but it's probably on its last season thanks to some fading. This jacket has been a nice way to make some of my work clothes a little more casual and a little more spring-like. I do have to roll the sleeves on this one as it's otherwise too long.

Feedback and ideas welcome!
