Except that they are European or British, so we pay extra here for them. My much-loved Paul Green brand is about half the price in Europe than it is here. So the VERDICT, everyone: I'm keeping them, and in the original size. I brought home a second size, and the home comparison confirmed my in-store decision on the sizing. I think the look is very you. (And how I love your top.) I think I said in your other thread that I found my own floral booties more of a styling challenge than I thought. I have to say, I have been wearing them more this year than last year, so I think there might have been an adjustment issue for me. (I usually favour plain, neutral footwear.) Donna, I know what you mean--it's really hard to judge shoes by wearing them in the house. And loafers are a slightly different style for me. I do have some other loafers that are comfy, and I do wear ballet flats easily--but still, these are different. So, yes, I'm trying to assess how well they're going to work fit-wise. They seem fine. But I did have a high-top sneaker issue this past spring, in which I had to donate a nearly-new pair because I just couldn't get them to work on my foot. I'm a little leery now of un-tried brands and/or styles. That said, these do feel good enough that I'm just about ready to wear them out of the house (equivalent to "cutting the tags"). I can see why you don't want to make a $365 (plus tax?) mistake! Since the style is great, we can move on to comfort and fit: Do shoes ever give you problems like slipping at the heel or pinching a particular toe? I've found that wearing footwear inside doesn't catch ALL the problems. . .Since these are suede, they may stretch a little. But do you think they will be okay at the heel? I am not a loafer gal at all, but DANG! These babies look great on you. I am just playing devil's advocate above, since making a mistake at that price would kill me since I'm not a 1%er.
