I think I'd like to see this jacket with a lighter foundation ~ a white tee perhaps, and white or cream-colored jeans. Or even jeans with a summery, light blue wash. Finish it off with a sand/nude wedge or sandal with a sand/nude belt. I think it would lighten up the outfit for spring and summer. It's a cute jacket, and the stripes are a lot of fun. I don't find it busy at all.

Janet - will be wearing it with a white tee definitely, thanks for your comment.
celia - yes, theoretically cropped blazer would go well with a dress, but I'm not in love with my toothpick legs so don't wear dresses much. Sigh.

I missed the earlier post, but I agree that styling this jacket with really simple supporting players would be my preference too. I'd be curious to see it with lighter wash jeans and a white tee as well.

I like this version( didn't see the other).
Have you thought about wearing a dress with it, in one of the neutral colors of the jacket?

I really like this styling, Daria! The jacket looks very much like a Smythe style to me. It's a beautiful shape.

rabbit - thanks! It's hard to see as the photo is fairly dark, but the jeans are very dark charcoal rather than black. I was thinking of wearing the booties instead of oxfords, which are almost exactly the same color as the pants. But being rather high heel, they would elongate the leg line even further which I felt was redundant with the cropped jacket.

I think it looks good. The column of navy picks up on the patches on the jacket and the narrow cut of the jeans works well with it's shape. Oxfords work with it too.

I missed your previous post but I think you've styled it well here. The neutrals and streamlined shapes balance the pattern nicely.

This is a very simple and very typical outfit for me, and I normally wouldn't be posting it. However, I did try styling this jacket a few weeks back (with light bottoms) and the outfit definitely looked like "too much going on". The jacket indeed has quite a busy pattern, but it's a nice structure for being 100% cotton, and I wonder if I did a better job styling it with darker neutrals.
Here I'm wearing it with black skinnies, navy top and gray oxfords.
Jacket - picked up on flash sale site, brand unknown :)
Top - Coldwater Creek
Skinnies - AG
Oxfords - Born
What's your opinion?
